I am becoming an atheist since Krishna failed to fulfill my needs. What to do?

A male devotee asked like this:

“HK Prabhu ji, When i am in distress and sees all my doors closed, then I dont worship Krishna, rather I get frustrated and start hating him, I know am not a good devotee because in hard times also i should not give up worshiping krishna but I gave up because when i am jobless my parents are also suffering because of me, I tried my best and every time i am getting rejected in an Interview, I have now stopped worshping krishna, I know am a worst devotee or not even a devotee but now i gave up, failure is geeting in my nerves now. Soon i will turn into an athest if the conditions of my life wont get improved. I know he is the supreme personality, I cannnot now turn to Demi gods also for materialistic pleasures becoz if krishna wont help me then demi gods too wont. This is the reason i am heading towards being an Atheist. I cannot worhip him in my hard times but in my good times I had never stopped worshiping him, thanking him, i was getting so close, but now i am v frustrated, Materialistic pleasure is imp coz ur parents are also related to us who are non devotees. I gave up now, life is like a hell without money and job, more den me my parents are suffering. I am taking all those failures, rejections as my bad karma, now its me and my hard work only, where ever it leads to me now.”

REPLY:

Actually, you have been following the devotion with the expectations.  So, if you do not get your expected life you get angry on Krishna.

A person becomes an IAS officer by working hard and writing two tough examinations.

A person becomes a country-wide sports person after succeeding in many local, district-wide tournaments.

Your parents have developed you to this stage with many difficulties.

If this is the case of materialistic success, why do you expect Krishna to come just on a call and fulfill all your material needs? Don’t you feel the need for serious practices to please Krishna.

Actually, Krishna never likes to break the karmic reactions of every person. Until we desert our material attachments, we will be under the hold of karma network.

When we start to live for Krishna without material attachments, Krishna takes charge of our karmic reactions directly.

Let me give a real story from the life of Sri Ramanuja:

Sri Ramanuja considered Thirukkachi Nambi as his guide, guru, etc. This Tirukkachi Nambi is a great Vaishnava who had no material desires and was living only for serving the Lord Varadharaja (Krishna’s form in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu).

Everyday, he would collect the flowers from his garden, makes a mala (garland) and offer to Lord Varadharaja.

Recognizing his selfless devotion, Lord Varadharaja would directly discuss with him every day.

One day, Lord Varadharaja told Tirukkachi Nambi:  “Nambi, you are caught by Sade Sati period from tomorrow. Since you are my close devotee, I have reduced it from 7.5 years to 7.5 days. You have to face these 7.5 days of Shani (satturn) period. So, please avoid visiting my temple for 7.5 days.”

Tirukkachi Nambi started to cry. He said: “You give me any other condition. I will accept. But, how can I remain without seeing you for 7.5 days?”

But, Lord Varadharaja firmly ordered him to obey His order because he has to honour the duties of Shani Deva. If Tirukkachi Nambi visits the temple, Shani will hesitate to catch him.

With no other options, Tirukkachi Nambi returned to his hut and remained crying for four days. He did not reveal the reason for his changed mood to anyone.

Sri Ramanuja asked him why he is always crying and in an upset mood.

Tirukkachi Nambi did not give the actual reason, but said that he is not feeling well physically.

But, Ramanuja begged him to share the reason if he considers him as his disciple.

With no other way, Tirukkachi Nambi explained the happenings to Sri Ramanuja.

Hearing this, Ramanuja said:

“Tirukkachi Nambi Swami.  You could have told me even before. This is natural. Lord Varadharaja has done only good to you. Those who are materialistic remain under the direct control of the planets. So, they are given full reactions for their karma by the planets. But, for the selfless devotees like you, the Lord takes charge of giving the reactions to their past karma.  The Shani entrusts the responsibility to the Lord. Then, the Lord reduces the severity of the reactions and make His devotees face them. That is why, Lord has reduced 7.5 years of Shani’s period as 7.5 days. So, you need not lament for this. Lord is very merciful to you. Feel happy over that.”

Hearing this, Tirukkachi Nambi felt relieved.

Thus, for the devotees, the Lord takes direct charge of their karmic reactions. Then, he moderates those reactions and make the devotees to face them in a short period and also gives strength to them to face those reduced reactions. Thus, Lord satisfies the karma network also. His devotees also get reduced reactions.

This is the beautiful and merciful act of the Lord.

Since you are a devotee, you are facing just this much of reactions like delay in getting job. In case you become a non devotee, you will be directly under the planets and hence your pains will be more severe.

Therefore, never lose the hope. Try your best to equip yourself to be fit for job. Develop soft skills like communication and personality development, and try effectively for a job, keeping Krishna in mind.

In fact, Krishna might have reduced your karmic reactions. If you stop worshiping Krishna, you may lose this direct shield of Krishna and hence your problems may become more.

Do not do this mistake.

Follow what Sri Ramanuja advised. Be under the shield of Krishna.

Krishna will ensure your karma getting cleared fast and bless you with what you actually require.

Hope you understood.
