Are the offenses in mind also punishable in kaliyuga too?
A male devotee (Name hidden) asked like this:
“I offer my respectful obeisances. In the following link it is mentioned that
Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu told Sachi Devi that “You can never go back to Godhead and you can never attain the mercy of Krsna because you have committed an offense against Sri Advaita Acarya in your mind”.
Jayapataka Swami: “In other yugas if one would think of a sinful act, they would get the reaction. In Kali yuga thinking about an act, would not give a reaction, but doing it does. So that is one of the facilities of Kali yuga.”
I have a question. If offenses are committed in the mind, is there any reaction or is there no reaction? I am confused.”
REPLY:
What HH Jayapataka Swami said applies for ordinary and forgivable offenses.
But, Vaishnava Offense is not forgivable even by Krishna.
Only the person against whom we offended can forgive us.
Some grave offenses are there that are not forgivable even if we think by mind.
For example, thinking offensively a Vaishnava; Scolding a Vaishnava within mind; thinking of having s…x with blood related persons, thinking of stealing the properties of a temple, etc.
These are some examples for grave offenses.
Every devotee should avoid thinking of such things.

Thinking of stealing the property of another person is forgivab e if not stolen actually. But thinking of stealing the deities of a temple is not forgivable though not actually done.
Thinking of cheating another person is forgivable if not actually done; But, if you think to cheat your guru, it is not forgivable though you actually did not do that.
Thus, we can’t take a single quote as an exemption to do all violations and offenses.
Krishna says that a devotee should be respected though he has fallen down.
This should not be taken granted to do any sins and also calling ourselves as great devotees.
Krishna said so for the devotees who fell down because of circumstances. Not the planned grave violators.
Thus, Some offenses should not even think within mind.
Ordinary offenses are forgivable if not done, but thought of them.
Hope you are clear whether the offenses in mind also punishable in kaliyuga too.
