“i’m very unlucky and depressed person in the world, after completing primary and high school, i never enjoyed my life, i never got good teacher in high school nor college, my family was financially back, so from small age itself, i had a dream of becoming computer engineer n i have to earn lot of money, and i want to take care of parents, and grandpa n grandma’s family, i never got a good teacher, philosopher, or guide, from small itself, I was genius in computer and electronic gadgets, so i was genius among all my cousins too.. But when i came to Pre university college, i took science, thought of becoming engineer n all, but unfortunately, science was very tough for me, there was no teachers and one of the worst college, finally i got failed, then i withdrawn, i took p.u commerce privately, now this year i took B.Com through distance education, but still today, i regret that i missed engineering, and today the god made me everything opposite, my cousins even though they poor they all done engineering taking loan, now they taking salary more than 1 lakh, i’m here without any knowledge, and don’t know anything what to do, how to do, whether i get good job for what i’ m doing, sitting in home, i got mad, completely depressed, don’t have knowledge of studies, missing college, totally a big question mark in front of my life. If u can help me, please give me the right opinion.”

Simply speaking, you had some expectations, but, they did not materialize as wished by you.
But, you have set your target without knowing your real interest areas and skill sets.
You are not comfortable with the science. Then, why did you set Engineering as your aim?

See, I even threw away my business to do this preaching and counselling service, because this service gave me less earning compared to my earlier material business, but, it gives abundant satisfaction and comfortable feeling.
I feel as if I am doing something that Krishna had reserved for me. Because, as said by Sri Rupa Goswami, devotional service is very rare to achieve.
So, we have to choose an activity or field in which we are comfortable and taste success instead of crying why the devotees face more failures in getting everything in life.
Vijay Mallaiya was very successful in his Kingfisher liquor business. He touched the unknown business of airlines with the same name. He was under heavy loans now as in January 2021.
The company of Idhayam Gingely oil is the number one in gingelly oils. The promoters entered into Night dress Nightie business. They faced loss.
What these examples show?
Do what you know well. Do not do something just because others do.

Krishna too asserts this in Bhgavad Gita (3-35):
“It is far better to discharge one’s prescribed duties, even though faultily, than another’s duties perfectly. Destruction in the course of performing one’s own duty is better than engaging in another’s duties, for to follow another’s path is dangerous.”
So, study a subject/course in which you have real interest. Do a job/ work in which you have natural interest and talents.
Remember, No one in this world is 100% happy. Everyone has some kind of problems. They may not show outside. So, don’t think that you alone are suffering.
I like to tell you that Krishna makes a person fail to give him success in any other field. Krishna may be willing to make you a good Chartered Accountant. That is why, He has diverted you towards Commerce stream. But, you like to become an engineer.
Why do you feel for losing engineering without considering more options that are available? Why can’t you shine as a C.A that is a rare field as the Chartered Accountants are in much demand now-a-days?

Srila Prabhupada, who was the founder of ISKCON too was relieved from his Pharmaceutical business by Krishna. He was a serious devotee of Krishna from his childhood. Krishna relieved Srila Prabhupada from his Pharma business because, Krishna wanted to make him to take His messages worldwide and made him to be respected throughout the world.
Had Krishna made Srila Prabhupada as a good pharmaceutical businessman, he would have become a popular Pharma owner within his district or state. But, now, he is living in the hearts of lakhs of devotees throughout this world.
Now, can you understand why Krishna gives failures and why the devotees face more failures? It shows that He is very merciful on us. That is why, he makes us fail in our small desires and make us a great personality.
So, do well in B.Com. Then, join C.A course and get coaching from a good institute, since it is a tough exam. But, if you pass in it, you can also earn more than your cousins.

After I finished +2, ie, 12th Std or Pre-University, I wanted to join and applied for B.Sc Physics. But, the college in which the fee was very less gave me only Chemistry. I could not join any other college due to poverty then. Chemistry is a tough subject for many students (in fact, it is an interesting subject). However, to make the negative as positive, I did well in Chemistry and got good rank in it.
Then, I diverted my field to administration (M.B.A). So, Chemistry became useless for me. Thus, I did contrary subjects and later became a marketing professional.
Then, I did my own business and finally, Krishna took me to His service.
See, I never live using my courses I studied. Only my natural and inner skills made me to become a successful preacher as blessed by Krishna and my Guru.
So, there is no need for the feeling of why the devotees face more failures in getting everything in life. These disappointments are natural for all the devotees. We must take even the negatives as the desire of Krishna and just proceed further.

If you do not get something that you expected, that means, Lord has some other better opportunity for you. It will come to you automatically. The Lord’s arrangements will always be the better ones.
Dr.APJ. Abdul Kalam attended the tests and interviews for the post of Air Pilot. But, he was not selected. He was very much disappointed.
Later, he became a great scientist and the President of India. God’s will had been so, but, he was willing to become just a pilot.
As I wrote in many places, sometimes, if a boon is given, it may do harm for the recipient. For example, if a Krishna devotee prays to Krishna for a son, but, he has the karma of dying because of his son, Krishna will not give a son for him.

This means, Krishna will never give anything that may harm His devotees.
This is Karma.
Without knowing this mercy of Krishna to protect His devotees, some devotees feel why the devotees face more failures in getting everything in life, and also accuse Krishna for not giving something. Some may even change their god if anyone says that a particular demigod gives whatever we pray.
So, Always be positive. Don’t allow negative thoughts dominate you. If you allow more negative thoughts, they will reduce your confidence level and hence your growth. It is a silent killer. You have two hands and legs, eyes, ears and BRAIN in good condition. What else you want from Krishna as His blessing? Do you know that there are crores of people who are living with disabilities like, Visual or hearing challenges, mental challenges, etc?

Having all the organs as perfect, crying to the Lord if the devotees face more failures in material activities is not nice. Use all your senses and organs perfectly in coming up in life. Then, pray to Krishna for blessings and to give strength to bear the pains of problems coming because of our karma. At the same time, perform your assigned duties sincerely.
You may be an expert in kirtans and music. It is for athma. But, to manage your body that houses the athma, you have to shine in your career. So, you should be an expert in other skills also. So, develop those skills, called soft skills, i.e, employability skills right when you are studying in the secondary school.
These sincere efforts with Krishna in mind will take you to success.
