What is called Pure love? Is it possible in this material world?
A devotee (Name hidden) asked like this:
“What is d defination of real or pure love? Hare krishna.”
REPLY:
Simple. Love itself means UNCONDITIONAL.
That means – giving without expecting anything in return.
But, as per Srimad Bhagavatham, only about 25% of people in this kaliyuga are in an acceptable state of reliability.
Example?
Take Krishna. He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. He is the topmost authority. But, He drove car for Arjuna.
(I love Krishna, but, I am unable to love the people of this world. What to do? READ HERE!)
It is Krishna who is feeding even for atheists who do not believe the existence of God and are preaching against the scriptures.
Why should He feed even the atheists?
Because, He is merciful. He only has created them with the atheist mindset.
Why? Then only, He can test others whether they are pulled from Him by atheists?
Only if there are negative people, we can give experiences to positive people and make them alert. So, we need negative people also. So, Krishna created them and is feeding them also.
Take the Lord Rama. Ravana was defeated in the battle field. Rama can kill him instantly today itself. But, Rama did not like to kill him as Ravana was alone. So, Rama asked him to come tomorrow for the war preparing still better. Thus, the Lord showed love even on the person who was fighting to kill Him.
So, being graceful with others, help others, being with others unconditionally – ALL WITHOUT EXPECTING ANYTHING IN RETURN is called love.
Love should also include forgiveness and sacrifice.
There is no place for vengeance or retaliation in the case of true love.
(If a girl loves Krishna but marries someone else, will she lose purity? READ HERE!)
Many boys love the girls and vice versa. If their love succeeds, they praise each other from sky to earth. If the love fails, they file cases or accuse each other or escape with relief. Some persons even throw acid on the other’s face to prevent her from marrying anyone else. Some others even spoil the life of the girls by telling about their past relationship to her husband.
Is this love?
If the friend has more money, he has many friends and praises. If he becomes empty, the friend circle also becomes empty. If he gains again, the circle comes again.
If a beautiful girl has money also, hundreds of people come to marry her. If she is a poor girl, 100s come to cheat her after befriending her.
Is this love?
No. These are businesses and selfish acts and cheatings.
There are differences between true love and Pure love.
All true loves need not be pure; But, all pure loves are true loves.
(BEST TIPS TO THE DEVOTEES FOR GETTING LOVED BY KRISHNA! READ HERE!)
All true loves need not be spiritual; there are material loves too; But, all the Pure loves are spiritual.
Why?
In material love, even in true material love, there will be some expectations like marrying the opponent. He may give her up if he did not get her. It is GIVING UP. But, the desire was there to get a person.
In Pure love, there will be no expectations or conditions. It is the affair of athma.
If you love someone truly, you will just see him/ her happy wherever he/she is. Though he/she marries someone else, you should bless him/her.
Loving someone only to marry is also not pure though it may be true material love.
Pure love can not be material because only athma is pure and spiritual. If there is even a trace of expectations, it is material love. So, can not be pure though it may be a true love materially.
(Why Radha Krishna Love is praised, but, a Girl & Boy love is objected? READ HERE!)
So, If you like to receive pure love, you give Love to Krishna. No disappointments. Because, Krishna never rejects one who loves Him. If that person is very impure, Krishna will purify him and accept.
This purification starts immediately after one starts to love Krishna.
But, in material love, though true, bonding starts when one starts to love another. This bond is also a contamination.
We can find many examples in the scriptures for the Pure love that are naturally targeted at Krishna:
Lord Sri Krishna Himself;
Radharani;
Gopis;
Meera;
Hanuman ji;
Uththava;
Sri Caitanya Maha Prabhu;
Sudama, etc…
