If Brahma Vishnu & Shiva are not equal, why they are grouped as Trimurtis?
A woman devotee (Name hidden) asked like this:
“Hare krishna prabhuji. You are the only person who is always available to clear our doubts beyond the doubts. My question is: If Brahma ji, Vshnu ji and Shiva ji are nt equal, why are they grouped as Trimurthys? Please clear my doubt. Thank u Prabhu ji”
REPLY:
Let me just modify your question like this: If Brahma Vishnu & Shiva are not equal, why they are grouped together as Trimurtis?
Simple.
More than 800 crores of people have been grouped as HUMAN BEINGS.
There are many differences in the qualities among them.
(BRAHMA DEVA – HISTORY AS ONE OF THE 12 MAHAJANAS! READ HERE!)
One group of people have aggressive nature;
One group of people have soft nature;
One group of people have lying nature;
One group of people have honest and reliable nature;
There are cheaters; Pious persons;
But, we call everyone as human beings.
Similarly, though we call them as Timurtis, they need not be equal in capacity, functioning, etc.
Differences exist everywhere.

Some devotees may say that we should not classify the gods based on who is more powerful.
But, if you take a company, you can say only one person as the chairman with ultimate controlling powers..
Just to consider everyone equal, you can not say that all the employees are chairpersons of the company.
The grading is there in every management.
These creations are also managed by crores of (in fact, innumerable) employees and it is also an administration.
The fact is that though Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are Trimurtis, there are some differences in the capabilities and assignments.

Lord Shiva has a very unique and significant position.
In fact Lord Shiva is the most powerful, second only to Lord Vishnu. Shiva is an expansion of Lord Krishna.
How is it so?
According to the Scriptures, Krishna has 64 qualities. Lord Brahma posses 78% of these qualities and Lord Shiva possesses 84% of these qualities.
Since living entities are also like Brahma so they also possess 78% of these qualities but in lesser extent. None of them possess all 100%.

SCRIPTURES ABOUT TRIMURTIS
Srila Prabhupada explains, “The living being can never possess attributes like Shiva, Vishnu or Lord Krishna. A living being can become godly by developing the seventy-eight-percent transcendental attributes in fullness, but he can never become a God like Shiva, Vishnu or Krishna. He can become a Brahma in due course: – Srimad Bhagavatam 1.3.28 purport”
Lord Shiva has connection with the material nature but Lord Vishnu (or Lord Krishna) is transcendental to material nature.
(1) Brahma – Samhita (Verse 45):
”Just as milk is transformed into curd by the action of acids, but yet the effect curd is neither same as, nor different from, its cause, viz., milk, so I adore the primeval Lord Govinda of whom the state of Shambhu is a transformation for the performance of the work of destruction”.

(2) SRIMAD BHAGAVATHAM (12-13-16):

(3) SRIMAD BHAGAVATHAM (6-3-20):
lord Shiva is one of the 12 Mahajanas, the authorities on Vaisnava philosophy.
(4) SRIMAD BHAGAVATHAM (8-24-76) :
Lord Shiva states that if anyone reads his Rudra geeta prayer then he will invoke the mercy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Krishna.
(5) SRIMAD BHAGAVATHAM (8-7-40):
Lord Shiva tells his wife that he drank hala hala, the poison which came out during the churning of the ocean, to please Lord Vishnu.

(6) PADMA PURANA:

(7) SRIMAD BHAGAVATHAM (8-12-10):
Lord Shiva got bewildered when he saw the female form of Lord Vishnu, Mohini Murti. Lord Shiva later reveals that he is unable to completely understand the illusory energy of Lord Krishna.
(8) Bhagavad-gita (11.15):
When Krishna displayed his Universal form then Arjuna said: “My dear Lord Krishna, I see assembled in Your body, all the demigods and various other living entities. I see Brahma sitting on the lotus flower, as well as Lord Shiva and all the sages and divine serpents.”
Therefore, grades and stages are natural in any administration. Trimurtis are also administrators of these creations! SO, the grades are inevitable.
Hope you are clear if Brahma Vishnu & Shiva are not equal, why they are Trimurtis.
