What is the karma for causing an accident while driving & Remedy?

“Hare Krishna prabhuji. Oh.. Krishna Kindly forgive me.. I do big mistake. I don’t have a license. I accidentally hit a man with my car. By Krishna’s grace he was saved his leg injured doctor suggest 3 weeks rest. I am most fallen soul. I don’t tolerate my mistake. I questioned my self why are you doing this what a foolish thing do you have no brain… I am going so depressed . I think I leave my village and went to iskcon ……… I stay with them and serve to them. I lost my husband one month ago. how can I do this with my foolish mind. I don’t concentrate to do japa with these thoughts I’m agitated. Kindly help me now please reply immediately.
Note: By Krishna’s grace no economic problems. I have two daughters.”

First thing is, you will definitely acquire karma for causing an accident while driving.
Second thing is, in many cases, you can get out of this karma immediately.
Let me explain both.
KARMA FOR CAUSING INJURY FOR SOMEONE IN ACCIDENT
First of all, Only in India and some asian countries, even the grown up persons drive without a driving license that is an irresponsible behaviour.
Though they have the license, there is no guarantee that he got that license after showing his driving skills to the RTO (Regional Transport Office) because there are many brokers who arrange a driving license in India even without showing our driving skills.
Actually, day by day, it seems that the rulers do not implement the rules strictly, after the independence. There is corruption in all stages that enables achieving anything though illegal means just by paying a bribe and a new sincere ruler can not correct the system easily. It need strong and determined action from both the central and state governments to control the corruption in India in all stages. I myself am frustrated seeing such trends in my country. Some states implement the DEVELOPMENT schemes properly, but not all the states.
Since the Independence, in India, the schemes and projects have been planned keeping only the votes in mind, not the actual needs of people. Giving freebies should be done only for the economically poor people to help them to come up in life. Starting the industries suitable for the Indian culture and the people and developing the agriculture should be the priority of the governments to make the people earn and stand on their own legs.
More and more divisions in the societies because of religion, caste, race, money, education, career, etc. Every division claims that it is superior out of all other divisions.
More and more usage of technology causes more and more new diseases. To cure those diseases, hundreds of brands of the same medicine. Then, treatments for side effects of those medicines.
It seems, as said by Srimad Bhagavatham, these things will go worse further that we are going to see in future. Since the situation has gone beyond the scope of correction, we are under a compulsion to stop further births in these irresponsible trends of kaliyuga.
Sorry, I got emotional seeing the irresponsible people and some governments. I am really worried seeing this trend of India that is blindly following the west forgetting its own glories and exploiting its own culture by using the technological advancements.
Let me come to the point.
You drove without a license and hit at a man. However, because of your good time, he has survived. So, you have some mercy from God.
Since you have spoiled his plans for 20-25 days and made him suffer with the pain, you add negative karma of hurting another person knowingly (because you had no license and been careless).
As per the karma theory, you will be hit by someone in your next birth and suffer in the hospital for some days.
However, you can escape from this karma by doing the following:
(1) Admit him in a good hospital and give him good treatment and you pay all the expenditure.
(2) If he is a daily wage or he suffered loss of earning for 20-25 days, pay atleast his earning of 25 days as a compensation for his loss of earning and also 25% extra as compensation for his mental and physical agony.
(3) Give some money for the follow up treatment if required.
(4) Kindly enquire him periodically till he says that he has fully recovered.
(5) One day, sit with him and beg his forgiveness because only if he says from heart and by words that he has forgiven your mistake, your karma will be relieved. Also get the forgiveness from his spouse or parents and brothers/ sisters because they too have suffered because of you.
Make their heart cool through your above support.
Hereafter, you can feel as if relieved from karma and your karma would have been forgiven.

KARMA FOR CAUSING DEATH OF SOMEONE IN ACCIDENT
In case, a person dies in the accident, the person who hit at him with his carelessness should accept the responsibility of all the expenses and support for his family maintenance and the studies / marriage of his children.
This will be expensive because you are adopting a family of the deceased and support them from outside. This too will REDUCE the karma. That means, the person who caused the accident, will not die in accident in next birth, but will escape with some wounds because he took care of the family of the deceased person. If he does not do this, he will die in accident in his next birth, though he had faced jail term for his accident in his previous birth.
If a person dies in an accident because of his fault when you were driving with normal speed following all the traffic rules, it won’t cause karma for the driver and even the law does not punish him. However, as a humanitarian consideration, the driver can give some moral and monetary support to the family of the deceased.
KARMA FOR CAUSING PERMANENT DISABILITY OF SOMEONE IN ACCIDENT
If the affected person had acquired permanent disability PREVENTING HIS EARNING because of the mistake of the driver, the driver should consider that like the death and do all the support for the survival of the family of the affected person throughout his life.
The above cases will greatly reduce the karma for those who caused accidents because of violating the traffic rules.

MY EXTRA ADVICE:
Some motor bikes and cars are allowed to be sold in India even with the capacity of running 300kmph speed. These vehicles can’t be stopped suddenly and it may threaten the pedestrians and other drivers.
Even in this matter, the governments are irresponsible because congested and damaged Indian roads in many places are not fit to drive even in the 60kmph. So, the government should reduce the maximum capacity of speed in the vehicle itself while manufacturing.
It may not happen for known reasons. So, the people should drive with a responsible speed that can be stopped suddenly when someone crosses.
These preventive precautions may help you in avoiding karma while driving.
