Krishna Knows our needs – Story!
If you ask Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj whether his two eyes have any names, he can only say, ‘Yes, my eyes have names’
Do you know what their names are?
One is Samartha Ramadas, and the other is Tukaram Maharaj.
It was the first eye Samartha Ramadas that introduced Shivaji to the second eye Tukaram Maharaj.
Samartha Ramadas told Shivaji:
“If you ever go to the village of Dehu, there is a saint named Tukaram there, come and worship him!”
Shivaji too met Tukaram.
From the moment he met Tukaram, Shivaji became a piece of iron attracted by magnetism.
When Shivaji went to Dehu, he saw many sadhus gathering there, eating and staying.
Thinking that Tukaram, who was extremely poor, welcomed them without frowning, entertained them, fed them and enjoyed them, he decided to help them financially.
The next time Shivaji went to Dehu, he placed a plate of fruits, flowers and many gold coins in front of him and worshipped him.
Tukaram, who received the plate, trembled as if he had been electrocuted and immediately threw the plate away and ran away.
Shocked, not knowing what had happened, Shivaji looked at his disciples nearby and they said:
“If anyone gives money to Tukaram Maharaj, it will torment him like this. No one will give him money or gold because it will torment him.”
A remorseful Shivaji approached him and asked for forgiveness for his mistake:
“Swamiji, many sadhus come and go around you, and I put the gold coins on the plate thinking that they need financial help to provide them with all the necessary amenities, facilities, and food.”
What did Tukaram say to Shivaji?
“Maharaj, how long have you known me?”
“Swami, I didn’t know about you before?!”
“Oh! Even though you have known me for some time, you yourself evaluate what my service is and what it requires and try to help me by providing financial help. Then, won’t that Krishna, who has known me for many births, not know what I need? Will he go without helping? Isn’t that his concern and responsibility? As far as I am concerned, touching, receiving, and serving through money is as great a sin as eating the flesh of a cow and living off its flesh.”
How many devotees today have realized this?
MORAL:
Krishna Knows our needs and which is good for us. So, we need not ask anything from Him. If he does not give something, there must be some reasons.
