Is Divya Dhrishti, ie, forecasting the future events true? How?

A devotee asked like this:

“Jai Shri Krishna Prabhu ji……..Could you please explain what is ‘Divya Drishti’ and how it can be obtained?”

REPLY:

WHAT IS DIVYA DHRISHTI?

Divya dhrishti is true and is possible only for the pure souls or atleast less contaminated souls.

“Drishti” means the ability to see the visible and tangible, ie, the saguna.

But  “Divya-drishti” means the ability to see the invisible and the intangible, the nirguna.

They could see what no one else could see.

They could join the dots, create patterns, observe rhythms and this led to insight, hearing the inner voice that makes no sound but still can be heard.

This was shurti, hearing of the soundless speech. This was Veda, wisdom,  later transmitted through mantras or hymns and yantras or symbols.

Divya Drishti is also a part of a yoga process.

Divya Drishti can be achieved by continuous practice of purifying ourselves.

This Divya Drishti is naturally available in great acharyas, but, they never expose them for their popularity. Those who are having so much of material attachments will not have divya dhrishti.

AN EXAMPLE FOR DIVYA DHRISHTI

There was a Popular Sankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakodi Sri Chandrasekarendra Swami from Sri Kanchi Sankara Mutt who lived for 100 years in Tamilnadu and he was a well wisher of ISKCON and he only sent the Stapathi to make the Mayapur Sri Narsimmha Dev.    He led a very simple life and he was very much respected by all.  He never did any magical acts and he never claimed that he is god.

That Sankaracharya once showed this Divya Dhrishti.  Once a rich person who was the devotee of Sankaracharya arranged a big vedic pooja rituals at his home.  He had called many brahmanas for that pooja.   His residence was situated 50-60 miles away from Sankara mutt in Kancheepuram.

In that pooja, one great brahmana who was a great disciple of sankaracharya was also performing the poojas.  As he was very old, he could not loudly utter manthras that irritated the rich man.  That brahmana was fully renounced but he had the attachment only with sweets.  When that rich person finally offered feast to all the brahmanas, that particular brahmana asked for one more piece of sweet.

That rich man told the brahmana:  “You did not utter the manthras loud.  But, you are asking for more sweets?”

That brahmana felt shy for his attachment with the sweets.   After the feast, he straight away went to the nearby Kamakshi Amman temple and cried to the deities:

“I had a little attachment with this sweet though I had renounced all.  Today, I have got a lesson and I feel shy for that.  From this moment, I will never touch sweets”.

After crying, he left home.

That rich man went to meet Sankaracharya to get his blessings for performing poojas.  But, Sankaracharya did not allow to meet him.  He then begged what offence he committed.  Finally, Sankaracharya told him:

“Some time back, you have insulted a great brahmana who could not pronounce manthras due to his age.  Do you know his merits?  He has cried at the temple and he has not renounced sweets also that was the only attachment he had.  This is a great insult to him.  I can not bear such insults to great devotees.”

That rich man fell on the ground and begged pardon from him wondering how Sankaracharya Swami knew what happened in the pooja as no brahmana who had attended that pooja had not yet returned.  He understood that Acharya knew what happened in pooja through his DIVYA DHRISHTI.

He humbly told Sankaracharya Swami:  “Swami.  I have realised that I have made a great offence at the feet of devotees.  You, the Swamis have seen that through your divya Shrishti.  I seek your pardon for that.  Let me go to that brahmana’s house immediately and seek his pardon falling on his feet.  Please permit me to do that”

Sanracharya Swami smiled and said:  “It may not be possible for you.  Seek his pardon IF YOU CAN SPEAK TO HIM”

That rich man could not understand the meaning for that statement.  However, he went to the brahmana’s house.  But, he was stunned to see that the brahmana had just passed away minutes back.

How did Sankaracharya know that the brahmana will die in minutes?

This is called Divya Dhrishti.  Forecasting the future;  Seeing invisibles;  Hearing un-audibles;

Many great acharyas had possesed that ability that is a gift of God.

If you like to attain that ability, you should become PURE like those acharyas.  So, purify yourself to that level.

However, we are expected not to waste our life time in attaining such Divya Dhrishtis.

For this kaliyuga, there is an easy method of chanting the Holy Name of Krishna.  This itself is capable of taking us to Krishna.

Then , why should we aim for Divya Dhrishti, when we get Krishna Himself?

A KRISHNA DEVOTEE WILL NOT BE PROUD TO HAVE THIS DHIVYA DHRISHTI. HE IS ALWAYS HUMBLE.

So, Chant Hare Krishna and Go back to Krishna.
