Is abolishing the Varnashrama system possible through Laws?

Is abolishing the Varnashrama system possible through Laws?

No. It is not possible.

Branding and Classifying the people are inevitable in a society. Examples:

(i) Those who teach & preach the Vedic texts are branded as the Gurus.

(ii) Those who teach the skills for leading good material life, are branded as teachers.

(Did Krishna create caste system to divide the society as said by atheists? READ HERE!)

(iii) Those who manage a company or office are branded as managers.

(iv) Those who do agriculture are are branded as Farmers.

(v) Those who produce a movie or a product are branded as Producers.

Classification within the set up is also inevitable. Examples:

(vi) The job levels in companies and even in the govt officies are classified as Class -1 employees, Class-2 employes, Class-3 employees, management staff, Labourers, etc for the administrative reasons.  The employees don’t object for such classifications.

(vii) There are apparenmt classifications like Divorcee, Widow, Widower, etc.

(viii) Marks are awarded as First Class, Second Class, Third Class, Pass, Fail, etc.

(ix) There are some other classifications like Dark guy, Fair guy, Fatty guy, Slim boy, etc.

(x) The people are also classified as rich, poor, Upper class, middle class, Lower middle class, Lower class, etc.  No one seems to object this type of classifications.

(Being a brahmana or Vaishnava – which is recommended for kaliyuga? READ HERE!)

(xi) There are also other classifications like Mentally challenged, Physically Challenged, Visually Challenged, etc. that have been accepted by all.

I have given just a few for understanding. But, there are many brandings & classifications like them in the society.

There are botanical, zoological, Social classifications that are unavoidable.

The people differentiate others with the appearance, profession, Guna (mode) etc.

Krishna created Varnashrama system for the good maintenance of social order.

The brahmanas are essential because they preach and keep others regulated.

The kshatriyas are essential because they protect the country and the people from enemies.

Vaishyas are essential because they produce and make the things available for the people to live.

Sudras, ie, Working class are essential because without workers, no other business or activity can be operated.

None of the above varna is birth based. They are based on the nature and profession.

Every Varna should cooperate with the other varnas and maintain the good Soocial order. No Varna should suppress or insult or ill treat other varnas.

Ok, Let us come to the last point:

Can the Varnashrama dharma be abolished?

Not possible.

As listed above, classifications are inevitable in any grouping. So, even among the population of people, there will be some kind of classifications based on their profession, nature, activities, etc.

(Why Brahmanas are given more importance than other varnas? READ HERE!)

Let us read what Srila Prabhupada tells about this matter of abolishing the Varnashrama dharma:

Conversation on June 28,1976 in Vrndavan:

“You have to pick up the truthful men all over the world and classify them as brahmana. That we are doing. “If you follow these principles, no illicit sex, no intoxication, no gambling, no meat-eating, you are brahmana. Come on.”  His father may be meat-eater or gambler or drunkard, but he is agreeing (to follow regulative principles), “All right, come on, this come. You are welcome.”  Then it will be all right. You cannot abolish the truthful class of men. There are… You’ll find truthful men everywhere. So you have to pick up. So Krsna says that, caturvarnyam maya, guna-karma…  You pick up the quality of men and put them in the brahminical class, and then next, ksatriya class, then vaisya class, then sudra class. But you cannot abolish that system. That is a false attempt.”

This is the Reality about whether abolishing the Varnashrama system possible by the leaders through Laws.
