Whose negligence is more serious?
The negligence of second person who stops after chanting is more.
One gets manthra from a guru and follow Chanting. He promises to the guru to chant.
Because of many genuine reasons, he may become unable to continue chanting PROPERLY FOR THE COMMITTED ROUNDS.
Eg: Very old age; Diseases; Bedridden; Loss of speech; etc.
In such cases, he may have to stop the chanting in a proper way though he can keep thinking of the names within mind or he can chant without sound, but with lip movements only.
If that person still prefers stopping chanting, our sanatana dharma recommends a way AS THE INEVITABLE OPTION to avoid guilt.
(Encouraging Tips for Chanting without Offenses! READ HERE!)
He should worship a cow and chant the manthra once in her ears.
This indicates that the person has given up the proper chanting process because of health reasons.
After that, he may follow silent chanting or just remembering though he an not chant as committed properly.
Why Cow?
Because the cow is full of auspiciousness and mercy. She an nullify any inauspiciousness.
This is just for inevitable cases;
Do not use it as an escape for stopping chanting.
Stopping chanting because of loss of interest in the holy name, leads to a sin of violating the vows given to the guru.
So, use this option only if you are truly unable to chant Properly because of genuine reasons.
