SRI VASA PANDITA – LIFE HISTORY – DIARY!
(ONE OF THE PANCHA TATVAS)
(1) Sri Krishna Caitanya Prabhu Nityanandha Sri Advaita Gadadara Sri Vasadhi Gaura Bhakta Vrinda
We thus remember all the five Pancha Tatvas before starting the chanting to get the Pardon for our innocent offences while chanting and to start chanting praying for the blessings of these Pancha Tatvas.
(2) Sri Vasa Pandita was the close associate of Sri Caitanya Maha Prabhu.

(3) He is considered as the marginal energy (tatastha shakti) of Krishna who came to earth when Krishna came as Lord Caitanya.
(4) Before Lord Caitanya came, Sri Vasa was living in Navadvipa. Earlier, Srivasa Thakura was living in Sri Hatta, However, to get the association of devotees, he shifted to Navadvip.
(5) Sri Vasa used to lead his brothers Sri Rama, Sri Nidhi and Sri Pati in devotional practices such as kirtans, worship, bathing thrice a day, etc.
(6) Sri Vasa’s wife Malini and Sri Caitanya’s mother Saci matha are friends. Maha Prabhu loved Malini and Shrivasa as a His second mother and father.

(7) Everynight Mahaprabhu and His close friends would enjoy ecstatic kirtans in the large house of Sri Vasa called “Sri Vasangan”.
(8) Seeing the kirtans, the ruler Kazhi got angry and once broke the Mrdanga in Sri Vasanga. Henceforth, Srivasangan was called Khol Banga Danga (The place where the mridanga was broken).
(9) This Kazhi is said to be Kamsa of Krishna Avatar who came as Kazhi during Sri Caitanya’s Period.
(10) Sri Caitanya appeared in the dream of that Kazhi and requested him to allow the devotees who were perforfming krtans. Kazi promised that he his family members would never stop sankirtana by the devotees.
(11) Lord Caitanya, who is Krishna Himself converted Kamsa (Kazhi) Himself as a devotee.

(12) Kazi was planning to convert the devotees of Caitanya Mahaprabhu into Muslims, but what happened was just the opposite.
(13) Lord Caitanya showed His transcendental form to all His eternal associates from the house of Sri Vasa only.
(14) Above all, around five hundred years ago, the Krishna consciousness movement of Sri Caitanya Maha Prabhu started from the house of Sri Vasa Pandita only.
(15) Sri Vasa had a son, but his son died at a young age itself.
(16) Sri Vasa is also considered as the incarnation of Sage Naradaas said by Sri Gaura Gannoddesha Deepika.
(17) The origin of the famnily of Sri Vasa Pandita is said to be Srihatta (Sylhet) in present Bangladesh.

(18) Sri Vasa’s son died during the kirtan. It was known to the Lord Caitanya only after some time. He cried and hugged Sri Vasa. When Lord Caitanya touched the dead body of the son of Sri Vasa pandita, he regained his consciousness. Then he spoke glorifying the Lord Caitanya and then again went to the dead condition. Seeing this miracle, the assembled people fell at the Lotus feet of Lord Caitanya.
(19) Lord Caitanya did this lila to show that the devotees should not be impacted by their personal loss.
(20) Only in the Sri Vasa Angan, Lord Caitanya remained long 21 hours in the ecstacy that is called Mahaprakash Lila.
