How to secretly follow devotion to Krishna if others object? Tips!

A Girl devotee (Name hidden) asked like this:

“Hare Krishna. You have mentioned in many articles that we should follow stri Dharma if husband is devotee or non devotee and satisfy him and adjust with him while practicing bhakti. But what if our in-laws force us not to follow bhakti?? I sometimes decide i won’t hear whatever they say,but practice my bhakti. But something think that what if my husband gets agitated if I don’t obey my in-laws. I dont want to spoil relationship with my husband. I’m unmarried. So please clarify my doubt. Thank you.”

REPLY:

Firstly, you should choose the spouse as a devotee by clearly telling your parents to arrange a good devotee boy to marry.

If you missed it, you should openly request your in laws to help you follow devotional life and to take tasty Krishna prasadam everyday instead of karmic foods.

If you prepare prasadam with outstanding taste, they will switch to prasadam.

If they are meat eaters, politely tell them that you can’t cook meat and if they want, they can take in hotel, not at house.

If this too does not work out, don’t worry.

Let them live as they want.

You insulate yourself from those people heartly.

Devotion does not mean doing some sadhanas publicly known to others.

Devotion is a private matter between you and Krishna.

You can love Krishna silently within heart with no voice and noice. Others can’t stop that. Right?

You can chant within heart even while cooking, cutting the vegetables, cleaning the house, while resting, etc. Others may not know that.

You can keep one book of Srila Prabhupada at a time and read that whenever you get free time. When others read material contents, you can read literatures related to Krishna. Others can’t object it.

You can always be in touch with the devotees by being in devotional groups, communities in Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, etc. Others can’t object it.

You can visit the temple whenever you get free time or whenever the family members go to any outstation.

Whenever you cook, you can cook one or two dish for Krishna and keep it near Krishna’s picture and recite simple manthra thrice and take it after 10 minutes and honour that.

Thus, you can silently or secretly follow devotion to Krishna if others in the family object.

No need to publicize your devotional life and don’t expect others know that you are following Krishna Consciousness.

Since Krishna Consciousness is the change of consciousness from material consciousness to Krishna Consciousness, it can be followed silently and even secretly.

Krishna will accept even silent chanting and silent following of devotional practices.

Devotion is important. So, you can customize the way of following according to your family and other conditions.

If the family members too are fortunate, they too will start to follow in due course of time.

Just follow devotion and Love Krishna within heart.

It is possible and others can’t object it.

Hope you are clear now about how to secretly follow devotion to Krishna if others object!
