Why most people get Ghost body even without committing suicide?

Prabhuji, I saw the list & it contains almost most of the reasons of death even the death without remembering Lord’s names. So it appears practically everybody goes into the Ghost yoni after death.
I had learnt earlier that if one commits a suicide for the remaining natural life span or more he will be moving in ghostly forms & suffer within this material world. For other deaths, he will follow the struggle to reach Yamaraj & shall be punished and or rewarded according to his accrued karma and then going through the Pitraloka they get the next cycle of material bodies for the next evolutionary cycle. I also understand that for devotees depending on their purity the route might be totally different. Also I know that our suffering & type of death is predestined based on our past karma.
So I am a bit confused after reading your article about the people who move around in ghost yoni’s. Not all people move as ghosts after every death.”

First of all, getting Ghost body is a form of common punishment for many sins, not just for suicide. Every person has chance to get a ghost body atleast for a day or a week or month or year or decade if he does not take efforts to burn his karma through penances recommended for kaliyuga. But, only a few people do penances. That is why, most people get Ghost body even without committing suicide.
Why getting a ghost body is a punishment?
Because, a ghost has mind, buddhi and ego to induce it, but can’t taste them.

That means, it can think, like to enjoy, feel that others are enjoying thru vibrations and and it may feel a kind of thirst and hunger.
But, it can just wish to enjoy or eat or drink.
But, it can’t implement them because it does not have gross body to enjoy.
How painful it is!
A ghost has desire to enjoy, but can’t enjoy;
It has thirst and hunger as its mind still has such time schedules, but, it can’t drink or eat.
But, it will be just watching thru vibrations the enjoyment and pains of living people.
How difficult it is to live with burning mind and desires for many years?
So, Getting a ghost body is also considered as hell term on earth itself.
Why this arrangement of ghost body?
A person gets punishments for his sins in many stages and places:
(i) Some sins are given reactions in this birth itself. So, we may suffer in this body itself even before dying.
(ii) Some sins are given punishments in separate material planets called hells. That is why there are 30+ hells for different sins.
(ii) Some sins are given punishments within this earth but as ghosts. In this case, even the offenses/ sins of multiple previous births are also given reactions. This becomes the cause for why most people get Ghost body even without committing suicide.
You are thinking that the ghost body is given only for the sins performed in the current birth.

It is not so. We are committing so many sins in different occasions.
For example, adding more wealth than required for us also adds karma, ie, sin. Because we are getting the shares that have to be got by some others.
That is why our scriptures advise us to help others in need. The excess money we have have to be given to the needy as help because it is their share.
If we do so, we will not add negative karma.
It is the strict rule for brahmanas as per Manu Samhita and vedic scriptures. The scriptures warn the brahmanas NOT TO SAVE more than their daily requirement.
Now a days, even brahmanas invest in lands, shares, etc., excessively though it is prohibited for them.
Consider the current trend of kaliyuga, we can liberally understand that a brahmana can save for his birth only.
But what happens? Every person adds wealth for many of his generations.
We hurt many in our day to day life.
We insult many and we even do not show due respect for others.
We see a dirty beggar with allergic mind and scold them. This is also a sin.
We beat animals, kill animals, kill insects, etc. All are counted as sins.

Only a minimum percentage of people are vegetarians. Majority of people are meat eaters and hence they have to share the karma of killing animals.
This itself shows that MOST of the people have to be given some punishments ranging from mild to maximum.
Mild punishments are given in the form of ghost body for a short term.
That is why most people get Ghost body in instalments for their pending karma thru hundreds of births.
For example, the meat eaters may have to face the hunger and thirst by becoming a ghost for a certain term depending on his level of meat eating when he was alive.
If he had killed humans, he will be given severe punishments in the hellish planets.
In case there are pending karma from many births that are yet due for punishments, they too are given ghost bodies for a certain term depending on the severity of his pending karma.
Why can’t all the reactions be given within a single term of ghost body or hellish term?
It may affect the time taken for next birth. That is why some karma is added for the next body by giving another birth.
It is called Prarapth karma. We may have a very big basket of karma. Some parts are taken from that basket and given for this birth. So, still more karma will be there in the basket. Part of that will be allotted for next birth.
As I have been explaining in our site based on the scriptures, even taking a birth is a punishment because our athma is actually independent. Only going back to Krishna is the GIFT for the athma. Getting a body is just a punishment with the pains of birth, disease, old age and death.

See the ghost body also as a punishment.
The prarapth karma allotted to be faced in this birth is given in this birth and some karmic reaction is given as ghost body also.
So, the point is: Even the ghost body is a punishment with hunger but no food, thirsty but no drink, desire but no enjoyment, and so on.
Those who commit suicide are definitely given ghost body AS HIS HUMAN TERM IS STILL THERE AND HENCE HE CAN’T TAKE BIRTHS NOW till his natural death date comes.
But, the same ghost body is given for the sins of our previous births also in instalments in births after births.
That much of small to big sins the people are doing in their whole life time.

Why ghost body should be given for those who cheated the land of others, who had immoralities, etc?
Because, if he cheats the land or women in this birth, how cruel he should have been in his previous births?
So, he would have done many more sins in his previous births and also in this birth also.
So, he is given punishment with a ghost body as the instalment for this birth.
Remember, that is why, the scriptures say, unless we take efforts to burn karma, we may have to take hundreds of births to clear them and we may add new karma in those hundreds of births also.
Oh, my god. Endless cycle. Addition of karma at one side; Clearing of past karma at another side.
So, the one line reply for you is: Getting ghost body is a token instalment of hellish punishment on this earth itself.
The karma network is also giving chance for us to burn our karma by surrendering to the Lord. If we do so, we will be get rid of all the pending karma from our karma basket and we will be taken by the messengers of Vishnu bypassing karma related heavens and hells.
Since they do not do so, most people get Ghost body for any term between one day to many years depending on the severity of karma birth after birth in instalments, and also hellish terms in actual hellish planets.
