Keeping Good Mental Health using Krishna Consciousness! Tips!
A MALE WORKING DEVOTEE ASKED LIKE THIS:
“Dandavats. I need your prayers and blessings for something that i have been suffering from past ……. years. I got some psychological disorder in class 9-10th.
It kept on manifesting in different forms throughout the life. I was unable to recover from it. Father took me to multiple psychotherapy. It didn’t work. I had developed suicidal tendency too even after coming to Krishna Consiousness. But that tendency has gone now.
From past few weeks, I am again facing the same mental disorder. It’s manifesting again. I did multiple Ekadashi asking Lord Krishna to help me to overcome out of it and wipe these mental disorder completely and give me mental peace.
I don’t want to go to any counselor or doc for this mental disorder treatment. I want to get cured through Krishna’s blessings and mercy. I will do sacrifice and fasting as much as i can.
Need your dedicated prayers prabhu. The itch of this mental disorder is consuming me again. I am unable to bear it. Multiple nights I cried. I know it’s my past Karma.
Meanwhile Suggest me Prabhu How can I please Krishna so that he will bless me with complete immunity to this fear of mental disorder that has resided in my heart. ”

Keeping Good Mental Health using Krishna Consciousness is possible and it will be permanent.
Most of such disorders will remain unnoticeable and unremarkable until we keep our mind cheerful and confident.
But many people are unable to keep their mind cheerful and confident.
They attach themselves with the happenings in their life.
So they are always living with some kind of worry.
Lord Krishna came to the earth. Lived and left. When He left He did not hesitate to leave. He left as if He have fulfilled the purpose of the visit. Though He had accepted 16,108 queens, He did not hesitate to leave. He performed sweet lilas with the Gopis, parents and vraj vasis. If we are the part of those lilas we can not leave that spot and we will cry to leave those spots of lilas. But Krishna just left this world with no feelings.

This is called detachment. Sanyasa.
Material Detachment & Attachment to Krishna is the Primary requirement for keeping Good Mental Health using Krishna Consciousness.
But what the people do?
We develop attachments even with the cats and dogs. If we leave the cats and dogs on the road and feed them on the street itself, they will be happier than being in the home of someone. But we bring them to our bed room, give them a separate bed and we develop excessive attachments with them. Then we cry when those dogs and cats die one day.
We develop attachments with everyone. When we are unable to meet them even one day, we are unable to bear that.
We expect something or someone to be good for us. But we may not know that the same thing may be our killer.
For example we may love someone and think that she/ he alone can make our life cheerful and meaningful. But she is not a single person. ‘She’ means including her parents, relatives, etc. We may get attached to a girl. But that girl is attached with her parents also. She can not come out of that bond just for you. Because her parents are her first relations. You are the latest introduction.
So we should think 100 times before developing affection with anyone in this world.
Instead we can do anything as a duty not considering that relation as the compulsion to live.
Many devotees chant many rounds but expect only positives to happen in their life. But they forget that they can not go back to Krishna unless they face problems on earth.

Facing more and more problems, disappointments, cheatings etc., are the indications that our past karma are cleared and we are getting purified.
So we have in fact no right to expect anything in life. Because we have just two businesses in every birth:
(i) Facing the reactions of our karma we accrued from all our past births.
(ii) Involving in new karma by doing good and sinful acts.
This is how the chain of birth and death is maintained.
If we stop expectations and attachments we can stop adding new karma. If we face the problems, we can clear the past karma.
If we surrender to Krishna totally and start to live only for Krishna without even the trace of attachments, then, our whole karma account is kept under suspension.

Until we remain unattached, we are free from karmic reactions. Only the diseases and death will never be changed.
So, if your target is Going back to Krishna, face more problems and disappointments.
Many of us have the double targets – the want both Krishna and also getting their expectations fulfilled.
It is a conditional devotion.
‘I need Krishna; And, I should not face disappointments’
This is not the pure devotion.
‘I need Krishna’s service; I do not bother to face any pain for that purpose’
This is the right mindset.
But no one likes to face miseries or negatives. In fact, those negatives clear their karma and does good for everyone.
We are crying for the separation from a person – parents, siblings, lover, friend, pet animals, etc.
But we parted Krishna and came to this earth. How many of us cry for that?
The relations with the parents, siblings, lover, friend, pet animals, etc, give us some kind of satisfaction of our ego when they praise us. But the same relations will some times hurt us by accusing our actions that touches our ego and we get fumed.
Why have I explained the above facts for your question?
Because, all the above things affect our psychology.
When we give importance for negatives and positives in life and get agitated, it affects our psychology.

Since we give importance for them, they affect our psychology.
If we do not care them and treat the positives and negatives as the inevitable routine events of human life on earth, we will not allow our mind gets affected by those events.
Have you seen a child’s face?
It has no worries except hunger, thirst and pains.
Have you seen the animals and birds crying?
Impossible. Why?
Because they do not plan for satisfying themselves except food, shelter and safety.
What we do?
We have everything – a good earning, good place to live and good body without challenges.
We do not get satisfied.
We add a new requirement – a new relation. Disappointments. Worries.
If you keep your mind with no expectations, that will be the happiest life on earth.
Never expect that only a particular thing should happen. Be convinced and learnt that what is happening in our life is what we did to others in our past births.

So, we should learn to be a silent spectator of our life events.
This alone will do good for our psychology.
Why should we worry for unavoidable things of life?
Suicide is the number one coward act because we can show the same courage shown in dying, in finding the new opportunities and live happily.
Instead of dying and suffering as a ghost and get the angry of Krishna, you can live for the betterment of other people.
See I have no life. I too have thought of suicides when I faced severe problems and disappointments in life in my twenties and thirties.
Then I truly decided to live for serving Krishna and His devotees.
This was the wisest decision I took in my life.
Even in that I spent many years in this preaching service with no earnings even for my living in the beginning.
My financial position became very weak in the year 2017-18.
I did not stop this service.
Seeing my determination, Krishna is showing His abundant mercy on our service that has become the most popular spiritual counseling service of its kind all over the world.

In that state, your psychological issues will always remain stable and under control and they will not dominate you.
Again I say instead of thinking of suicide for one or a few persons, start to live for others. But without expecting anything from them back – even appreciation or glorification.
This will make your life meaningful, cheerful and free from worries.
Since I am serving others and thinking of improving this service all the time I have no time to think of even myself because Krishna is taking care of my basic needs.
So hereafter think beyond your problems. See how much the people are suffering in this world and you are not an exemption.
Live for others atleast for some time every day or every week.
This will keep your psychology in a stable and healthy condition.
Keep chanting and reading about Krishna atleast for two hours a day.
Other times concentrate in your job and earn making yourself financially safe.
Do not analyze anything seriously and deeply. Just accept whatever happens.
This will make your life blissful and cheerful.
