What are debilitated & Combust Planets? How do they perform?

“Jai Radhe Krishna, What does a combust or debilitated planet mean? Why does it happen? What might a person suffer from due to this? What karma the person might have did?”
REPLY:
Let me give an outline briefly just for easy understanding:
The whole Solar System is considered as 360 degrees.
It has been divided as 12 Rasis.
Each Rasi is the space of 30 degrees.
So, 30 x 12 = 360 degrees of total solar system.

In these 360 degrees, every planet has peak strength (exaltation) at a point and weakest strength (debilitation) at another point at 180 degree distance.
For example, For Saturn, 20th degree point in Aries is the debilitated point. Its exact 180 degree opposite 20th degree at Libra is the exalted point.
For Sun, 10th degree point in Aries is the exalted point. Its exact 180 degree opposite 10th degree at Libra is the debilitated point.
If a planet is at or near its exalted point, it will have more positivity and goodness.
If a planet is at or near its debilitated point, it will have more negativity and malefic nature.
For example, Saturn will be strong at 20th degree in Libra and will be weak at 20th degree in Aries.

If a Planet is near Sun, its brightness is consumed by the brightness of Sun. So, the planet loses its brightness to the Sun.This is called Combustion or Asthanga.
Closer to the Sun – more will be the weakness and negativity.
A Planet should be in a comfortable point in a house (Rasi) to do good to the concerned person. If the planet itself is in an uncomfortable point of debilitation or combustion, that planet gives uncomfortable results, i.e., troubles in achieving the functions related to that house (Rasi).
These debilitated and combust planets will struggle to give the full benefits to the person.
For example, if Venus is combust or debilitated, success in love will be difficult and the opponent will not understand the love of this person easily.
Even some changes in the character can be seen if the Venus is combust or debilitated, because the person will not be strong in the principles.
So, he will not have a stable love life.

That is why the love of many boys and girls fail.
If a planet is debilitated as well as combust, it will act as if the most malefic planet.
If a planet is combust or debilitated, the functions related to that house will not be of high standard and he will have ordinary features related to that house.
For example, if the Lord of 10th house is combust or debilitated, that person will not have a satisfactory job.
Or, he will have to try hard to get a job and he has to face many hurdles.
If the lord of 7th house is severely debilitated or combust, getting married will be difficult. Though he somehow marries, the understanding will not be strong between the husband and wife.
What to do to reduce the ill effects of the debilitated and combust planets?
(i) Reciting the beej mantras of the concerned planets.
(ii) Wearing the suitable gem stones for the concerned planet.
(iii) Donating and helping others.
(iv) Involving in devotional service that benefits others.
(v) Developing material detachment.
Always keep in mind: Only until we have material attachments, the planets will act on us. If we start to desert our material desires, the planets will help us in achieving our goals.
Should Krishna devotees perform these Parihars (remedies)?
Until you have some expectations for your goodness from the planets, such Parihars (remedies) will be necessary. If you desert your material desires, no need to perform any Parihar (remedies). Because there is nothing to achieve materially.
