Power of Gayatri Mantra – Story

Power of Gayatri Mantra – Story

About six hundred years ago, a Kerala king who ruled from Thiruvananthapuram fell ill with an incurable disease.

Despite all the medical treatments he received, he could not get rid of the disease.

We call it “royal medicine”, but despite all the treatment he received, he could not get well and suffered a lot.

One night, he prayed to the Lord and just cried for a while. Then he had a dream.

In the dream, a great form appeared in the sky and the earth and said to him, “O king! What you have suffered from is a karmic disease. That is, the remaining residue of the sins you committed in your births has become the disease. You have to experience this and solve it, it cannot be cured with any medicine. If you want, you can do something. Make a structure with sesame seeds and fill it completely with gold, invoke your karma, sins and ailments in it and give it to a virtuous Brahmin. Then the karma will leave you and go to him. If he has good mantra power, he will burn away the ailments. In any case, we have to give him so much gold as a remedy for accepting such ailments to himself.”

When dawn broke, the king made an image of sesame seeds and had it filled with golden beads the size of a pea. He openly explained the ritual of giving to the Brahmin community.

No one came forward to accept the alms. “The king should face his karma. Should we risk our mantra power for gold?”

“If the mantra power is not enough, we will be risking our lives,”

Everyone said and left.

The king could not bear the diseases. He sent people to announce in all four directions, hoping that someone from outside the city or kingdom would come.

Due to this, the Kerala king also brought the matter to the Karnataka kingdom.

A Kannada brahmacharya with good mantra power and courage came to Thiruvananthapuram to receive alms (donations) from the king.

The king could not contain his joy. He cast a thread as if it were fate and donated the sesame doll to the brahmachari.

Then a surprise happened. When the brahmachari looked at image/ doll, she raised her right hand high, folded her little finger and thumb, and extended the other three fingers.

The king’s ancient karma had been originally embodied as a person of time and death. Therefore, the unharmed image had actually become a living being with life.

When it extended three fingers in this way, the Brahmachari  said, “That is not possible.”

Immediately, the image kept only the other two fingers extended.

“That is not possible either,” the Karnataka Brahmachari shook his head.

The image folded its middle finger and showed only one index finger.

“Ok, May it be as you wish. I will give only one third of the benefits acquired by me by chanting Gayathri” said the Brahmachari.

Before he could close his mouth, the image fell at his feet with great joy, prostrated himself, and got up.

Then the image remained just an image.

Why the Image became dead again?

Because when the image received one third of the benefits of Gayathri Manthra from that brahmachari, its karma received from that brahmachari went away as burnt.

So, that image had no other reason to live after losing all karma by getting Gayatri from that Brahmachari.

The people, who understood from this how much power there is in performing Gayatri properly, celebrated that pure brahmachari very much.

In fact, as soon as the Brahmachari received the image from the king as alms, the king was cured of his illness.

This ius the Power of Gayatri Mantra.
