If Birth & death are predetermined, why doctors are required?
A female devotee (Name hidden) asked like this:
“Hare krsna, dandabat pranam. I have one question. Birth, death, marriage are they predetermined? If this is so, what is the role of doctors and medicine?”
REPLY:
Why do we follow devotional practices?
To reduce the severity of our past karma thereby purifying ourselves.
This Shows that karma can be moderated.

Not for all; But for those who have been destined to get relief thru parihars, ie, remedies.
See, all those who face heart attacks do not die.
A section of people die without having time to attend the doctors; Another section of people escape since they get sufficient time to visit the doctors and take emergency treatment.
What this shows?
Some people are destined to die on that particular day.
The death dates of other people have not yet come. Hence, they got time to attend the doctors.
In the year 2019, when I got heart pumping issues, a doctor said that I was dying.
All my relatives came and cried.
I told them that I won’t die now as my death period has not yet come. (But, I have not yet analyzed my death date as it will spoil our peace of mIind. But, in the year 2019, I was sure that it was not the year of my death.
As said by me, from the third day onwards, my heart gradually resumed better pumping.
Now, while typing this, 5 years have passed.

So, though I was expected to die, the time fixed by my karma had not yet come.
Or, Krishna might have allowed me to live for some more time as I have no other activity than to serve Him and His devotees.
So, our birth and death are already destined.
However, if our karma allows us to die in the third heqart attack, we will survive in the first two attacks.
Then why should we go to the doctors?
If we take treatment and take medicines, we can lead a better quality life till we die.
If we don’t go to the doctors, we may have to live with many health issues including breathing issues.
So, doctors and medicines can help us to lead a better life till we die as per our karma.

We will get chance for getting treatments only if our karma permits.
If not, death may happen even suddenly with a sudden massive attack.
One of my well known boy of 35 years was walking on a road in front of me.
He just fell forward getting hit by a small stone on the way.
He did not get up.
When I turned his body, he had died.
Sudden, unexpected death.
This is also karma.
So, even getting a good treatment will be permitted by our karma only.
If one is destined to lead a better quality life till the last breath, he will get a chance to get treatment of good doctors.
Hope you are clear.
