What happens after a soul is taken by Vishnu dhoothas?

A male devotee (Name hidden) asked like this:

“If we go by the story of Ajamila in Bhagwatam, for devotees of Lord Krishna or Vishnu (the one who are not perfected) the soul is not taken away by yamadutas rather Vishnudutaas & certainly the pain (more for gross sinners & lesser for good persons) enroute may not be there.

What is the route or the procedure followed after the Vishnudutas take care of the soul & till getting a new body to clear the remaining karma & proceed further from the level of stored spiritual advancement?”

REPLY:

You are thinking that the soul taken by the Vishnu dhoothas will have rebirth. That is why, you have asked about the state of that soul till getting a new body to clear the remaining karma.

But, the reality is different.

Krishna says in Bhagavad Gita that one goes to the world of a deity if the person dies thinking of that deity.

(What is the Status of Srila Prabhupada in Goloka – Manjari or Sakha? READ HERE!)

He further says that one who leaves his body thinking of Him (Krishna), he attains the world of Krishna.

So, it is very clear that a soul that utters any name of Krishna is purified from all the karma of all the births.

When he utters the name of Krishna at the time of leaving the body, he gets complete purification.

Only if a person gets a completely purified state at the time of leaving the body, Vishnu dhoothas come.

You may ask: We are chanting Hare Krishna throughout the life. Then why don’t Vishnu dhoothas do not come at the time of death?

Reason is there.

Consider I am destined to leave this world on a particular date and time.

I am chanting Hare Krishna now.

Whenever we chant, we get purified. Fine.
But, next moment, we will add another karma by doing something.

So, we again get contaminated.

But, thinking Krishna while leaving the body is permanent because next moment he will not be alive and hence he can’t add new karma after thinking of Krishna.

Because, he is going to die immediately after thinking of Krishna.

So, he will be in the purified state at the time of death.

That is why, he is taken by Vishnu dhoothas to Vaikunta.

If we go to Vaikunta with the Vishnu dhoothas, we will have no rebirth until we ourselves like to take birth.

Life in Vaikunta with Vishnu or in Goloka with Krishna is the eternal state.

Only the purified soul without pending karma can go to Vaikunta.

Since he uttered the name of Krishna at the time of death, he had cleared all his pending karma and he could not involve in new karma.

So, though Ajamila begot ten sons thru that pros…..te lady, since he called his last son Narayana while dying, he was purified from all his past sins and hence Vishnu dhoothas came, explained the Yama dhoothas the above facts and then took Ajamila to Vaikunta.

So, Ajamila was in the liberated state at the time of death.

Now, the reply for your question is:

No procedures or No enquiries or No need for the judgement for his next birth after a soul is taken by Vishnu dhoothas?

Since he was pure, he was just taken to the Vaikunta and allowed to serve Vishnu from there.

To establish the above facts, let us read the part of Vishnu dhoothas explaining to Yama dhoothas in Srimad Bhagavatham Canto-6, Chapter-2:

“The Viṣṇudūtas said, “We see perfectly that Ajāmila should not be punished, although you are attempting to take him to Yamarāja for punishment.”

It was due to Ajāmila’s glorifying the holy name of the Supreme Lord that he was not punishable. The Viṣṇudūtas explained this as follows: “Simply by once chanting the holy name of Nārāyaṇa, this brāhmaṇa has become free from the reactions of sinful life. Indeed, he has been freed not only from the sins of this life, but from the sins of many, many thousands of other lives. He has already undergone true atonement for all his sinful actions. If one atones according to the directions of the śāstras, one does not actually become free from sinful reactions, but if one chants the holy name of the Lord, even a glimpse of such chanting can immediately free one from all sins. Chanting the glories of the Lord’s holy name awakens all good fortune. Therefore there is no doubt that Ajāmila, being completely free from all sinful reactions, should not be punished by Yamarāja.”

As they were saying this, the Viṣṇudūtas released Ajāmila from the ropes of the Yamadūtas and left for their own abode. The brāhmaṇa Ajāmila, however, offered his respectful obeisances to the Viṣṇudūtas. He could understand how fortunate he was to have chanted the holy name of Nārāyaṇa at the end of his life. Indeed, he could realize the full significance of this good fortune. Having thoroughly understood the discussion between the Yamadūtas and the Viṣṇudūtas, he became a pure devotee of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. He lamented very much for how very sinful he had been, and he condemned himself again and again.

Finally, because of his association with the Viṣṇudūtas, Ajāmila, his original consciousness aroused, gave up everything and went to Hardwar, where he engaged in devotional service without deviation, always thinking of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Thus the Viṣṇudūtas went there, seated him on a golden throne and took him away to Vaikuṇṭhaloka.

In summary, although the sinful Ajāmila meant to call his son, the holy name of Lord Nārāyaṇa, even though chanted in the preliminary stage, nāmābhāsa, was able to give him liberation. Therefore one who chants the holy name of the Lord with faith and devotion is certainly exalted. He is protected even in his material, conditional life.”

Hope you are clear about the what happens after a soul is taken by Vishnu dhoothas?
