If a Sinner thinks Krishna while dying, will he go back to Godhead?

A Girl devotee (Name hidden) asked like this:

“Can a impure devotee also remember Krishna at the time of death… But there is one more point that until we are 100% pure in bhakti we can’t enter into goloka while in case of ajamil we have seen that he was saved but another point is that he was once completely absorbed in devotion in his childhood….

I have great trust on ur counselling n I m one of those persons who opens fb to read ur post n I get answers to many of my questions through ur posts. Ur post is very helpful for persons like me… Thanks for doing such service to lord n aspiring devotees like me… Hare Krishna”

REPLY:

You have asked about the materialistic and sinful persons thinking of Krishna at the time of death.

No. It is not possible as per the  regular path.

A person need not call Krishna or Vishnu with devotion. Even if he utters the name of Krishna accidentally, he can go back to Krishna.

(Can a devotee of sadhasiva go from Kailasa to Goloka if he desires? READ HERE!)

The rule is that one should somehow, even accidentally utter the name of Krishna or Vishnu at the time of death.

Even unknowingly.

For example, Ajamila led an irresponsible life but he called his son’s name as Narayana at the time of death.

He did not call Krishna or Narayana. But, he called his son only.  But, he got the fortune of getting liberated and getting Krishna Himself.

Ha Ha.  Everyone can’t get the fortunate death like Ajamila. Only a few get such opportunities.

All others should go as per the regular system.

As per the regular process, one should THINK of Krishna or utter his name knowingly at the time of death.

(What is the Status of Srila Prabhupada in Goloka – Manjari or Sakha? READ HERE!)

But, knowingly thinking of Krishna at the time of death is not an easy think.

Mostly, we will think “Oh, it is painful, I can’t bear the pain, no one is there to care me, like that.”

Only if a person is thinking of Lord throughout his life and is detached from material affairs, he can think of Krishna DURING DEATH THAT IS A VERY PAINFUL PROCESS.

Can a materialistic person, say, a women addict, think of Krishna when the soul leaves the body that causes the pain equal to the bite of thousands of scorpions?

How is it possible? They will think: “Oh, I can’t enjoy girls anymore because it seems I have to die. I am losing a great opportunity of such enjoyments. Why this death comes with this much of pains? If I am given 50 more years, I can enjoy more and more.”

But, pure devotees will have no attachments with material affairs. So, they do not think material things while leaving,. They think of Krishna even while leaving and hence he is taken by Vishnu’s messengers, not Yama messengers.

In the case of Ajamila, though he committed offences in later part of life, his previous Samskaras in childhood and previous births, stood as the cause to call the name of Krishna at the end of this life. This happens for some fortunate souls only, not for all.

So, do not expect such exceptions.  Think of Krishna throughout the life. He will make you think of Him at the time of death.

Hope you are very clear if a Sinner thinks Krishna while dying, whether he can go back to Godhead.
