Krishna Rewards our faith – Story!

Krishna Rewards our faith – Story!

One day Lord Sri Krishna was strolling through the city in earth and seeing the life of people.

A devotee who recognized Lord Krishna in the form of a common man, told:

“Oh my Lord! I am very happy to meet you in this world”.

The Lord said:  “It doesn’t matter if it comes in the form of an ordinary human being, you see, well I have to meet some people in the world. You please come with me.”

The devotee accompanied Lord Shri Krishna on His invitation.

After going some distance, Krishna said: “Bhakta, I am thirsty for water. Please fetch water from this rich man’s house.”

The devotee knocked on the door of the house without saying anything.

The devotee said to the rich man who came out:

“Lord Sri Krishna has come to your house and He needs some water”.

That rich man said: “I can’t give water, no matter who he is. If we give like that, wealth will not stay in our house.”

He sent back saying that there is no water.

The devotee came back disappointed and told Lord Sri Krishna that the rich man could not give water.

Lord Sri Krishna smiled and said, “May more gold and wealth come to this rich man.”

Then Lord Krishna started walking further. The devotee was also confused and he started walking behind.

Next they went to a small hut. There was poverty in that house. There was only one old woman living as an orphan without children, husband, mother and father. She reared a single old cow and sold milk and used that money to meet her own needs. But She was extremely devoted to Krishna.

Lord Shri Krishna stood in front of that lady’s house and said:  “Get water from this old lady’s house.”

The devotee went to the old lady saying, “Okay, Lord Shri Krishna is standing in front of your house. He is thirsty. Please give water.”

The old woman said, “Has Lord Krishna to whom I pray every day has come?”

She cleaned a vessel and filled with clean water and gave it to Lord Krishna. After giving the water, she was standing in awe of Lord Krishna.

Krishna smiled, thanked her and started walked away.

After walking a little distance, seeing the old lady’s cow, Shri Krishna said “let this cow die” and started walking away.

A confused devotee who came with Sri Krishna asked Krishna a question, “Lord I am confused. First we went to a rich man’s house. He said no water. You said, May more wealth accrue to him. Secondly, an old woman gave you  water and helped you to quench your thirst. You say let the cow die for her. You have given a curse to the afflicted and a blessing to the wealthy? Is this God’s judgment?

Lord Sri Krishna said

“Listen, devotee, I will tell you in a way that you can understand. He who wanders excessively in search of gold and wealth loses his peace. That’s why I cursed him to get more gold and wealth. You thought it was a boon!

Secondly, an elderly lady who was an orphan was my ardent devotee. The only thing she has in this world is this old cow. If that also dies, this woman will also die. I have prepared a place in Goloka for her for worshiping Me daily recognizing her good heart. I will keep her happy in My world”.

The Lord further said:

“Ok, The purpose for which I came here has finished. Let me leave now”

He blessed the devotee and disappeared magically.

The devotee, knowing many subtleties of life, raised his hands and prayed in the direction of Lord Shri Krishna thinking that Krishna Rewards our faith without fail!
