AIM FOR THE BIG – STORY

AIM FOR THE BIG – STORY

A teacher once asked his students the following question:

“If you had $86,400 and some thief ran away with $10, would you leave the $86,390 in your hand and run to get the $10?

Or will you go with $86,400 without caring the lost $10?”

All the students in a low voice:

“Of course we will leave 10 dollars. We will protect only that 86,390 dollars” they replied.

The author said:

“In fact, most people do the opposite. For that $10 they lose that $86,390.”

Students:

“Would anyone do that?! How is that?” They asked.

Teacher said:

“Actually 86,400 is the number of seconds in a day. If someone annoys you for 10 seconds or says hurtful words or something unpleasant happens, you waste the rest of the day thinking about it and the remaining 86,390 seconds.”

“So don’t waste your energies, thoughts and remaining time on an annoying word, or a negative event.”

This mistake is done by most of the people. They make small issues big by digging into it. It may even lead to separation between the couples. If you aim for the big, you should bear small issues and barriers in life.

For the welfare of the whole family, we need to make some small sacrifices. For example, if we sacrifice our ego and follow forgive and forget approach, we can save our life from big disasters.

Similarly, if we focus on the ultimate boon of getting Krishna Himself, we will be able to bear with the hurdles on its path caused by maya.

If we don’t care the small hurdles, we can get the top position in life.
