“Hari bol prabhuji . hare krishna. srila Prabhupada ki Jay. Prabhuji, i am doing krishna consciousness practices from approximately 1 year and recently in a lecture one prabhuji ( sorry i am not mentioning his holy name ) asked everyone why are you practicing this Krishna consciousness like chanting, dancing on kirtan and everything else then some one said because it gives me hapiness some said it helps me get relief of stress some said it gives us a regulative life to live and I said so i can escape the cycle of birth and death and also everyone gave many different answers.
Then prabhuji after hearing our answers said we all are still far from being a pure devotee because everyone has selfish motives and no one said because it makes krishna happy or it gives pleasure to krishna.
So prabhuji my question is i try to do all activities selflessly but it is not possible for me as from birth all i did was selfish love ( like if i help him god will also help me when needed….. etc ) maybe not only from this birth but from previous millions and trillions of birth because whenever i do something not only devotional but even material activities i do it in selfishness. Even when i chant the maha mantra in between i get selfish thoughts like it will give me happiness it will help me get relief from this painful world.
So prabhuji how can i offer my selfless love to the divine couple (radha and krishna) and how to avoid such selfish thoughts.”

But, it is a natural process, not to be taught in tutorials.

However, in the love between a boy and girl, there may be some selfish motives.
In many cases, love comes only with the persons who have money, comforts, beauty, etc.
It is rare to love a girl or boy with less beauty.
So, expectation is the base in the material love between a boy and girl.
Most of the boys and girls like to safeguard themselves even in choosing their lovers.
Only a small section of people are ready to sacrifice for the love.
I have seen some sacrificing women/ men who marry visually challenged men/ women and help them.
It is God’s arrangement. Though they were not given vision, they are given good spouse.
Some rich persons have no children, whereas many poor persons and even the beggars have many children.

Thus, everyone is living with some expectations in life.
So, they have some expectation even from their spouse or lover.
When they approach the God whom they worship, they show the same expecting nature from their god also.
They are used to show love only if they get some benefits from their lover or spouse.
If the wife stops cooking and giving ‘company’, they start to hate their wives. This means that their love is conditional.
Many girls desert their lovers if those boys suddenly lose their money in their business or lose their jobs.
Many boys marry a girl only if her parents are able to give big dowry and have more properties.
Thus, the whole material world exists because of the expectations.
So, it is natural to approach Krishna too with some expectations.

Only after crossing the elementary school and college studies, one can do doctorate.
We ourselves have become a man or woman after crossing many stages after birth.

You may be having some belief that you still have something to achieve materially in this world. These material goals may make your love contaminated with some expectations.
Realize that the purpose of our birth is to prepare ourselves to go back to our master Krishna.
Whatever we achieve materially will end with the end of this life. They will give us repeated births and deaths.
Whereas, when we aim to achieve Krishna, it will put a full stop to the repeated births and deaths and also repeated pains of diseases and olld age.
This conviction is important to realize that the real goal of this human life is to get Krishna.
This maturity and conviction comes thru personal experience only.
So, it takes ages to experience the life and we attain the conviction that this material life is dhukkalayam and we have to surrender to Krishna.
This conviction helps us to realize the REAL VALUE & IMPORTANCE of Krishna.
When we realize the true value of getting Krishna, we will not expect anything from Krishna except serving Him.
Yes, we will set our aim as pleasing Krishna and getting His mercy in this birth.
Then, our selfish motives will go. We will love Krishna unconditionally.
