I have no job though I chant 66 rounds daily. What to do?

A male devotee (Name hidden) asked like this:

Hare Krishna, plz guide me what should I do my age is 40 yr. My problem is that I Have not gotten a gud job so yet. I do 16 mala daily on beads and 50 mala on counter almost daily for last 6 to 8 months.

REPLY:

Don’t mistake me.  I tell what I feel.

I feel that you spend enormous time in chanting and less time in learning soft skills, ie, employability skills.

See, for a 16 rounds of proper chanting, it takes about 2 hrs.  For 66 rounds it takes almost half a day.

(Why 16 rounds of Chanting is recommended? READ HERE!)

Good. Very Good.

But, for a job seeker or a student who likes to go for a job and earn, 66 rounds daily can be reduced to 16 rounds, I feel.

I do not discourage chanting. I won’t do like that.

But, 66 rounds of chanting takes about 9-10 hours.

A person should work for his own maintenance. He has to study well, Qualify for the requirements to get a job, and try for the job sincerely till he gets one.

Achieving a desired job involves sincere plans.

(i) First you should decide which types of jobs you should try.

(ii) Then, what type of companies you should t=ry according to your qualifications.

(iii) What the companies expect from the candidates for every job related to your qualification or target.

(iv) From where we can learn the required extra skills and also about the functions of the company with technical details.

(v) What are the selection processes followed by the companies?

(vi) How to prepare for those selection tests? Should I go to any coaching or can be learnt through books?

(vii) Am I alright in English speaking and communication skills? Should I improve them? Do I have fear to speak? If so, start speaking in English with all you meet though you commit some grammar mistakes.

(viii) How to prepare for interview? What types of questions are asked in such interviews? What answer will convince the interviewing authorities?

(ix) Are they follow Group discussions or any other skill tests?

(x) From where I can learn all the details about the company? What is their website?

(xi) Should I try for job in my hometown or in any other potential city?

Thus, there are so many things to do if you like to get a good job.

If you spend 10 hours for chanting daily, how can you spend time to learn the required skills for getting the job?  Won’t it make you tired?

So, I advise the young generation who are studying or trying for job NOT TO SPEND MORE THAN 2 HOURS EVERY DAY FOR PERFORMING CHANTING AND DEVOTIONAL PRACTICES TO KRISHNA.

(I am unable to chant because of job. Should I change the job or drop chanting? READ HERE!)

You can chant or spend more for Krishna after you settle well in job.

During other times, spend as much as possible for learning the above mentioned requirements to get a job.

You can take steps to get a good job thinking of Krishna within mind.

I like to tell you this bitter fact:

Krishna gives something to His devotees only if he takes planned and sincere steps for getting the same.

Even after getting the job, you should work sincerely and effectively to retain the job. If you are a loss making or dormant employee, you can’t retain the job.

Krishna does not throw the appointment letter from the sky to all.

He has given you intelligence. You should apply that intelligence and try well for studying well and getting a good job.

If you do so, Krishna will help you by showing the right place to try for job.

Therefore, spend just two hours for Krishna exclusively and during the other times, try for settling in life, keeping Krishna in mind.

This is my sincere advice to all my young well wishers.  Please follow that.
