Why ghosts target women in menstruation in most cases?
A Girl devotee (Name hidden) asked like this:
Hare Krishna sir. You said once that a person com ghost after death if a lady in house is having her periods….I do not understand why Bcuz this is not a fault of that person also if there is a big family it is possible that some girl will have period at that time. Please clarify.”
REPLY:
If such women keep their body cleaned frequently, they need not worry for such targets of ghosts.
Actually, menstruation is the unused/unwanted blood. You are aware that our scriptures say that a person should bath though a drop of urine touches his dress while urinating.

They also advice to clean our genitals after passing urine. Why?
Because, urine is a waste product. It should not touch the body or clothes. If it touches, we lose the purity of touching the Lord and worshipping Him.
Because, in devotional practices, both mental and physical purities are important. So scriptures advice to clean our body after every small impurification.
Not only the urine… we are advised to clean the body even if our saliva touches our clothes.
The brahmacharis/ pujaris performing deity services in ISKCON and other temples have been advised to take bath after coming back from toilet every time. Because, they are touching the deities of the Lord every time. So, they need both mental and physiocal purity.
Other devotees may also follow that.
Because, they disturb our consciousness. So, we are advised so.
Now, let me come to ghosts. I have already written earlier that Ghosts live where the person and environment is impure.

If a person is having a pure body and pure heart, no ghost will attack him. GHOSTS ATTACK ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE TOO MUCH OF MATERIAL ATTACHMENTS THAT IS ALSO A CONTAMINATION.
When we keep our body unclean, ghosts will consider to take our body as their target point. So, those women in menstruation are expected to take bath in regular intervals to clean their body.
In older days, particularly in the devotee families, the women were living for 3-4 days in a separate room of the house on menstrual days, because, there were no facilities of napkins those days.
But, Now a days, there are napkins for women. So, they may avoid frequent baths. However, if they feel uncomfortable, it is better for them to take bath. So, atleast they may avoid touching the deities and pictures and not cooking for Krishna on those days. They can chant without Tulasi beads.
So, the women need not feel insulted. If they keep their body clean on those days, that is good. And, they can chant with clean body.
When you chant Hare Krishna, no ghost can attack you.

Not only those women. Ghosts target the following people also whether they are males or females:
(1) Those who do not clean genitals after excreting urine, stool, semen, vaginal fluids, etc.
(2) Those who do not bathe daily.
(3) Those who do sinful acts like illicit s…x, drinking, etc.
(4) Those who have s..x even with spouse on auspicious days/ prohibited days and during menstruation.
(5) Those who do not believe God.
(6) Those who cheat others and hence that concerned person committed suicide.
So, all rules are to maintain cleanliness of body and mind. We must understand the rules properly.
Purity is the force in devotion. It is the Protection from evil forces like the ghosts also.
