Is feeding meat to pets & arranging non veg hotels to others sinful?
A Girl devotee (Name hidden) asked like this:
“Thank you for such wonderful service. If possible I needed guidance to two questions asked by my friends. I tried to search but couldn’t get on site. If already answered can send me link.
1) If one is vegetarian but giving fish to cat or dogs. Does it accumulate karma. Will person giving non veg to animals get karma or sin?
2) My friend wants to arrange travel, stay of guests. This guest come and break regulative principle of eating non veg and alcohol. Will she get sin or karma as she is arranging stay and travel as part time business of these clients?
No hurry. If you feel this need to answer can reply. Can keep my name hidden. Regards”

(1) Your first question:
Yes, Giving meat for the pets like fish, cats, dogs, etc is sinful.
Why?
The fish or cat or dog may be meat eaters, but we are not supposed to supply them meat.
(If I stop meat eating, will my past sins of eating meat be forgiven? READ HERE!)
Then?
Firstly, don’t keep cats, dogs, etc at your home.
Let them live freely as they wish on streets.
Do you think that the pets are happier at your home than being at streets?
Not at all.
You may use shampoos, soaps, etc for bathing the pets. You may feed them with the richest food including meat. You may keep them with you on your bed near you.
But, they will be happier than this if they wander on streets with the other dogs, have matings with other dogs, eating whatever waste foods, etc.
Even the birds are also like that. They can’t be kept happy inside a golden huts. They will be happy only if they fly freely everywhere.
Ha Ha… Pigs too are like that. They will be very happy only if they live in the drainages and eat the stool. They will not be happy if you feed them milk keeping them at your house.

Thus, we are expected to show our mercy to the cats, dogs, etc. But, we need not keep them at our home and refuse their free movement everywhere.
If this is the reality even for keeping the pets at home, what to say about feeding them with meat?
So, you need not keep the pets at home. In case you like to keep them, don’t feed them meat in any form including eggs. Feed them whatever you eat or vegetarian pet foods sold at the shops.
Yes, feeding meat for pets will add to our karma because we encourage killing of animals by using meat products for our pets.

(2)
In the second case, you are arranging for a stay in a lodge for customers.
In such cases, show them good / decent lodging houses and vegetarian hotels that have strict rules.
Don’t show the lodging houses that encourage prostitution, non veg, drinking, etc.
Also give your service only to the customers who expect decent accommodation thru you.
If they use meat or drink liquor even after you showing decent lodges, it won’t add to your karma.
Only if you knowingly and willingly arrange a lodging house that encourage prostitution, non veg, liquor, etc, you will add karma of spoiling the life of a customer.
So, give responsible service and deal with decent customers. Then, their violations will not add karma to you.
Clear?
