Krishna is the protector of all – Story
Krishna is the protector of all living beings. This true incident proves that.
During the time of Ramanuja, there was a poor Vaishnava. He would not do any work in the temple. He would not do any recitation of mantras.
But he would come to get prasadam properly. That too, he would ask for a lot of prasadam.
That is why they would chase him away. Ramanuja noticed this.
Ramanuja asked:
“You do not do any work, you do not do mantra recitation. You only ask for a lot of prasadam”.
To this, he said, “Swami, I have 16 children. I have to give food to all of them.”
Ramanuja asked him if he knew the Vishnu Sahasranamam, and he was stunned.
Immediately Ramanuja told him to keep chanting the name “Bhoothaprut” regularly.
He promised that if he recited this, he would get food.
Days passed. That Vaishnava did not come to that temple.
At the same time, a portion of the prasadam also went missing.
Everyone was suspicious of the Vaishnava who had suddenly not come to the temple.
When Ramanuja went to his house, the Vaishnava fell at Ramanuja’s feet.
Ramanuja asked him why he did not come to the temple and how he got food.
The Vaishnava explained that he had been chanting the name given by Ramanuja, and that a disciple of Ramanuja gave him the necessary food every day, and his name was Ranganath.
Ramanuja understood that it was the Lord Sriranganath of Srirangam.
Tears welled up in his eyes. The Lord Himself had come to fulfill the vow of His devotee.
Since He Himself gives life to the beings He has created and protects them, the Lord Vishnu is called Bhoothaprud.
Therefore, if we worship Him, He will also give us the necessary food.
