Why big Punishments for small sins are given by karma network?

“Why a normal, but non devotee soul is unable to get even a simple life to live in material world though they are not doing major sins and unnecessary killing someone? It is logical to punish them if they do kill or cheat someone, but why this much of struggles for all these small mistakes?
After all God allowed us to come here in material world to satisfy our enjoying tendency, but same time he makes so many laws like this to struck us in endless chain! Why?
Although we can get freed from these minor sins by chanting, but why on first place they are applied on us on minor things. It gives message in our minds that god is cruel. Already we are dull minded people of this kalyuga.”

Your understanding is wrong. It is wrong to say that big Punishments for small sins are given by karma network.
Karma Theory is similar to Newton’s Third law.
What Newton’s Third law states?
“Every action has its Equal and Opposite Reaction”

This is already said by our Scriptures yugas ago.
Newton is very late.
Karma network gives similar punishment for our every sin. Not big Punishments for small sins.
For example, if I cheat or betray the trust of a girl in my present birth, it gives a birth as a girl to me and I will be cheated by a boy in my next birth or in any future birth.
If I kill a young child of a parent, in one of my future births, I will be killed in young age.
Thus every reaction is calculated and given back to us.
Then, why it seems that we are facing so much of problems in life?
Because, we have done that much of offenses, violations, sins, etc in our previous births.
Just review even in this birth what every person does every day.
When a person wakes up, he finds that he has slept for long. So, he scolds his mother or wife to prepare breakfast immediately as his office time is nearing.

He forgets that even his mother or wife will have tiredness, health issues, etc. But, he will scold. This is the first violation.
Then, he will reach the bus stand. A bus comes. He boards the bus and occupies a single seat that was available, pushing an elderly person who was trying to occupy that seat. Second violation.
The conductor did not come to give tickets. Before conductor comes, his stage comes and hence he gets down from the bus without buying ticket. So, he cheats the bus operator. Third violation.
He goes to the office. He gives wrong reason for the delay to his manager. Fourth violation.
If he gets a chance to get bribe from the people, he gets just for doing his well paid job. Fifth violation. This will be his daily violation that causes heavy loss to the employer.
In his office, he gossips to a person about that person’s wife that will affect the relations between that person and his wife. This is sixth violation.

He leaves his office half an hour earlier but gets his salary for the full day for less work. This is seventh violation.
On the way, he goes to the beach with his friends and goes to his home late. When his wife asks, he says that he had heavy works at his office. Betrayal of trust. Eighth violation.
In addition to these small violations, he loves and deserts his lover, marries and deserts the spouse, borrows and cheats the lender, etc etc.
If one commits this much of violations or sins in a single day, imagine how much of violations he will be doing every day throughout his life and would have accrued in all his previous births?
All are accounted. All are given reactions in the subsequent births.
If we try to clear our karma in its normal course, it will require hundreds of births. But even in those future births, we will be adding new karma again.
Thus, we are committing violations every day and also adding new karma.

All are waiting to be repaid by us in the same magnitude. Not as big Punishments for small sins as mentioned by you.
The sins and rewards that have to be faced in this birth will be added in our Prarapth karma meant for this birth. After allocating to the prarapth karma for this birth, there will still be big basket of sins and rewards that will be allotted to be faced in the future births.
Therefore, it seems that we are facing one problem after another.
Side by side, some blessings will also be coming. We may struggle to pay the school fees of our child, but he will be scoring State rank or National rank.
Therefore, you should understand that you yourself are the cause for all your sufferings in the birth.
You have asked why Krishna gives punishments cruelly.
Krishna did not give those punishments. You are withdrawing from your Karma account part by part.
You only deposited sins and blessings in your karma account. Now, you are withdrawing. Where Krishna comes?
Krishna has just created the Karma bank. Deposits and withdrawals are done by us. Krishna is just owning the karma bank.

Though the State bank of India is owned by the Govt of India, the deposits are not that of the Government. They are ours.
If we deposit more money, we will get more money to withdraw. If we stop depositing, you won’t have anything to withdraw.
Can we stop adding karma?
It is impossible until you are working for your pleasure.
That is why acharyas and scriptures said that we should work for Krishna. Then you will not commit sins and you will not add karma. Only if you work for yourself, you will add karma.
Moreover, if you just detach from the materials and attach to Krishna, and see Krishna everywhere and in everything, then, all the previous karma in your karma account will be wiped off and you will reach Krishna’s kingdom after leaving this body.
Thus, there is a possibility to close the karma account. Without following this, you are telling that Krishna is cruelly punishing the people.
Now I hope that you would have understood that we only are the cause for all our sufferings and blessings. Karma network does not give big Punishments for small sins as said by you.
