Durga Devi helps her devotee – Story

This is a Real incident happened in the life of a Durga devotee!

That Devi Upasak (Parvati / Durga devi preacher) had once borrowed money from a wealthy man and had signed a deed promising to repay it within a specified period.

But he was unable to repay the loan within the specified period.

One day, he was deep in worshipping the Goddess in the Puja room.

The wealthy man who had given him the loan came to his door and called him by name.

When the Devi Upasak (Parvati devotee) did not come out, the angry wealthy man started cursing and shouting at him as much as he could!

Then the wife of the Devi Upasak came out from inside and said:

“You want money, right? Don’t shout! I’ll be back with the money in half a second.”

She said and went inside the house.

Then she came back in half a second, with a small bag of money.

Then she smiled and handed the bag to him and said:

“Look here. In this bag are the money you lent and the interest on it!”

She further said: “After the Puja is over, you receive the Prasadam from husband and then give this bond to him!”

With a smile on her face, the woman went inside.

The wealthy man (lender) sat down in the courtyard of the house with the bag and the bond.

The Devi Upasak, who had come out with the Prasadam plate, was surprised to see the rich man sitting there.

” Oh my…I didn’t notice you…Excuse me! ”

The rich man did not let the devi upasak to speak.

He said:  ”First, get this bond!”

Hearing his words, the Devi Upasaka was very surprised! His eyebrows furrowed.

” I haven’t paid your debt yet?”

The rich man smiled and said this in a sarcastic tone:

” Your wife came a while ago and paid the entire debt and asked you to give her the bond too!”

The surprised Devi Upasak then called his wife and asked:

”Did you repay the debt? Is that true?”

The wife was stunned.

” Oh my… I was with you in the Puja room…? How is this possible?”

That woman exclaimed …

A voice came from the Puoja room:

”I gave the money!”

Everyone rushed to the Puja room after hearing the voice.

There was nothing there except the form of the Goddess Parvati / Durga!

Now everything was understood by that Devi Upask.

Realizing that it was the Goddess Parvati devi who had come in the form of his wife to pay off the debt, tears now flowed from his eyes! His wife was standing nearby with a frown!

Eyes getting filled with tears, the wealthy man fell at the feet of devi upasak and said:

”I spoke wrongly without knowing your greatness. forgive me!”

That Devi Upask was none other than Bhaskara Raya who wrote the Purport for Lalita Sahasranama!
