How did Satya yuga people know Krishna’s visit in Dvapar yuga?
Harish Kumar Bhagvani asked like this:
“Hare Krishna prabhuji, Dandvat pranaam. Please accept my humble obeisance at your lotus feet. All glories to Shri Guru and Gauranga.
We could learn from Shastras that even in Satyuga many great devotees like Prahalad Maharaj and Ambarish maharaj were aware of Lord Krishna as the Supreme Lord even though they also worshipped Lord Vishnu (even though Shri Krishna Lila was performed in end of Dwapar yuga). How this can happen when Shastras like Srimad Bhagavatam were not composed that time and in general Lord Vishnu has been widely known as Purusha atleast Satyuga and Treta yoga. Even in Dwapar yoga Devaki and Vasudeva as well as Yashoda Mai and Nandababa considered Lord Vishnu as Supreme (even probably that’s the reason why Lord Krishna shown His in 4 handed Vishnu form after birth to assure them as Lord).
Can you please throw some light on it in light of scriptures”
REPLY:
In most of the yuga cycle, or chaturyuga, there are ten prominent avatars known as the Dashavatar. One or two Chatur yugas may not see any particular avatar.
So, avatars are repeated mostly in every chaturyuga, except a few.
You can read those details in this Previous Post (Some details are given in this current post also):
(Do Same avatars of Vishnu/ Krishna repeat in every Yuga? READ HERE!)
Of these, four appear in Satya Yuga: Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, and Narasimha.
We now read the Ramayana that happened in the Treta Yuga.
Even before that, We also read the avatars happened in the satya yuga also, such as Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, and Narasimha.
How is this possible?
These avatars and the avatars of previous Treta and Dvapar yugas are known to even the people of satya yuga also as these knowledge are always transferred thru Guru-disciple lineage.
So, the Visit of Krishna in the previous Dvapar yuga (not in the recent dvapar yuga, but previous one) would have been known to the people of Satya yuga.
The recent Dvapar yuga came after the Satya yuga. But, there would have been another previous satya yuga before the Satya yuga.
The avatars of that previous Satya yuga was transferred thru Guru-disciple lineage and the people of other yugas knew through them.

In every yuga, similar avatars happen but with slight changes if necessary.
Whenever Bhagavan comes as Krishna, similar lilas also happen. Similar demons are sent. Similar devotees are given birth.
The Years are only 60. The planet positions on the first year and the 61st year will be exactly the same.
This means, if this year is A, same A is repeated after the end of the 60th year.
Similarly, in every yuga, similar avatars happen with some differences.
So will the Ramayana and Mahabharata happen again?
They will repeat but they will not be exactly the same as that of those happened in the past cycle of time.
So incidents like Mahabharata and Ramayana will happen again, in each next respective yugas but they will be completely different according to the situation of that Kala (Time). It’s like a Cricket World-Cup which happens after every 4 years, each time the story is different, the challenge is different, and the team which plays the best will win.

By this logic, people in each cycle would be required to be taught about dharma and Satya. They must be shown the right way and evil should be destroyed. This is the reason why Ramayana and Mahabharata happened. It was God’s wish and God took avatars in respective yugas to eliminate evil and preserve dharma.
When the Kali Yuga is estimated to end, none of us can estimate it. I would say it is beyond human calculations and indeed a supernatural phenomenon! What happens in previous yugas is a lesson for people in next Yuga. They should follow this lesson and this will lead them to the right path.
SOME MENTIONS ABOUT THIS IN THE SCRIPTURES:
Yog Vasishtha Chapter 22:
Kak Bhushunda, an immortal crow tells Brahmarishi Vasishth of the events of significance that he has witnessed multiple times. In this he mentions many avatars of Lord Vishnu as well:
(14) Thrice I have seen the tyrant Hiranyaksha levy his tax upon the gods in heaven, hurling the fruitful earth with all her healing and medicinal plants underneath the ocean.
(15) I saw Hari (Vishnu) come down six times in the shape of Renuka’s son, Parashurama, and remove the kshatriya warrior caste for very long periods.
(Krishna, His Expansions & Avatars – Differences! Whom to worship? READ HERE!)
(16) O sage, I remember the return of a hundred Kali Yuga ages and a hundred incarnations of Hari in the form of Buddha and as the son of royal Suka or Suddhadana in the land of Kirata.
He also narrates having witnessed the Narsimha Avatar 3 times, Ramayan 11 times and Mahabharat 16 times:
(30) I remember Lord Vishnu descending many times on earth to destroy ferocious rakshasa demons, and is now to appear here the eleventh time under the name of Rama.
(31) I know Lord Hari has come down three times in his form of the half lion half man Narasimha to thrash the demon Hiranyakashipu as many times like a lion killing an elephant.
(32) Vishnu is yet to be born in his sixteenth incarnation at Vasudeva’s abode for the purpose of rescuing the earth from the burden of the oppression of its tyrant lords and despots.
If the Avatars were repeated in each Chatur-yuga the number of these repetitions mentioned by Bhushunda would be in thousands as he had been around for many Kalpas.
Chapter 20 of the same book:
(1) Bhushunda continued:— This world has existed in the previous kalpa in the very same state as it does at present. There is no variation in the formation or location of anything in any way.
(2) Therefore, O great sage, I am accustomed to look to the past and present with an equal eye. I will relate the events of my past life and bygone ages for your information as if they exist with me even now.
Therefore, the major Avatars are repeated in different Manvantars and Kalpas, but need not be in every Chaturyuga, but in many chaturyugas..
