Scientific Advancement in Ancient India! Examples from Scriptures!

A male devotee (Name hidden) asked like this:

“Jai Radhe Krishna!  Don’t Reveal My Name.  Do Any Puranas Or Other Scriptures Mention about India’s Scientific advancement in Ancient India like Artificial Intelligence Or Robots, Directly Or Indirectly? Will They Replace Our Jobs?”

REPLY:

Why not?

India is the father of all scientific advancements. Yes, it is true.

Not only the Scientific advancement, but mathematics, astrology, astronomy, etc., too were in an advanced state in India even 1000s of years ago.

The people in the west took away the scriptures of India and prepared astrological theories as if they found them. They developed them further later on.

Now, Yoga system has become popular all over the world. The people have accepted it as the best relaxing practice.

Only difference is that those advancements were used only by a few key persons like rishis, gods, etc., those days who visited the land in India.

Times Group of India had written an article about this long ago.

Let me give a few such details:

(1) The Scriptures like Ramayana, Mahabharatha, etc mentions about automations, Artificial Intelligence, etc.

(2) Vishvakarma is the Engineer among the Gods who do all the Constructions and automations wherever he is invited among the higher worlds.

(3) Persian scythed chariots, powerful machines to hurl massive boulders (bridges) existed in ancient times.

(4) As per the Hindu Scriptures, automations are made by the engineer god Vishwakarma and the sorceress Maya in higher worlds and whenever the gods establish constructions on earth including India.

(5) As per the Greek Scriptures, automatons are made by the god of technology Hephaestus and the brilliant artisan Daedalus.

(6) Jain texts mention that Ajatasatru’s engineers invented armoured war chariots with automated spinning blades.

(7) The travelling Greek sage Apollodorus of Tyana observed automated servants (Robots) and self-propelled carts in the court of a ruler of India.

(8) Greek sage Apollodorus further wrote that India was centuries ahead of Europe in the automated technologies of distillation and hydraulics.

(9) The Lokapanatti, a complicated compilation of tales from Burma, says that after Buddha’s death, King Ajatasatru preserved his bodily remains in a hidden chamber under a stupa. These precious relics were guarded by Bhuta Vahana Yantra (spirit movement machines) that were nothing but the robotic warrior guards with whirling (rotating) swords.

(10) Flying chariots, Vimanas, synthetic swans, animated servants, giant robots, machines and the like appear in the Mahabharata, Ramayana, Kathasaritsagara, Harivamsa, and other works.

(11) Self-navigating automated ships appear in Egyptian texts and Homer’s Odyssey;

(12) Android (Man like) and animal automatons are described in Homer’s Iliad and in Chinese chronicles.

(13) Greek Scriptures tell of automaton guardians in human and animal form defending palaces and treasure. The robots were constructed from plans secretly transported to Pataliputra from Roma-visaya, the Greek-influenced West, by a yantrakara, a robot maker who was originally from Pataliputra.

(14) The automated robotic soldiers guarded Buddha’s relics until the great Indian emperor Ashoka heard about the secret chamber. Ashoka battled the robots and after he defeated and learned how to control them, they obeyed him. Ashoka did unearth and distribute long-hidden relics of Buddha across the land.

(15) Automated Planes and flying discs were used by the characters of Indian Scriptures for which there were no drivers, but the aircrafts flied automatically just hearing the command given by the traveller (God) while starting the travel.

(16) Indians prepared Panchangs and calendars many thousands of years ago and calculated the exact time of eclipses, change of the position of the planets, floods, droughts, etc., even without the satellites. Their perfect astronomical calculation made everything possible.

(17) Artificial technologies of child birth too existed those days. The events related to Krishna’s birth itself establish this nicely.

Thus, Indians and some Other countries like China, Greek, etc., were well advanced in the automations and robotics thousands of years ago. Robots & Artificial Intelligence did exist in Ancient India.
