Lord Protects in His own way – Story
A ship caught in a severe storm is lost at sea and sinks.
One of the sailors cries out, “Narayana! Save me.”
The waves wash him ashore on a nearby island.
Frightened by the deserted island, he asks:
“Narayana! Let me escape from here somehow. How long will I have to stay on this deserted island? Shouldn’t my wife see the people?” he asks.
He hopes and hopes that he will get help in some way every day, but he is disappointed.
No help is forthcoming.
Days go by like this…
He builds a small hut with the materials he finds on the island to protect himself.
A few days go by like this.
He does not stop praying.
One day, he, hoping that God would save us in some way, went out to look for food and then returned.
The sight he saw startled him!
The only hut he was staying in was on fire, burning with smoke rising into the sky.
All the belongings inside the hut had been destroyed.
Seeing that, he screamed — “Everything is gone!”
“God… I begged you to save me. You took away everything you had… Is this your justice?”
He cried out.
The next morning, the sound of a ship woke him up.
It was coming towards the island where he was.
“Oh my God! It’s good… someone is coming to save us!” he said, jumping up and down in excitement.
The people on the ship saved him.
“How did you know I was stuck here on the island?”
He asked them.
“We saw something burning on the island and smoke rising; We thought someone was asking for help.”
Then he understood why Lord Narayana had burned the hut. Realizing that he had saved him, he thanked God.
Since ships rarely came that way, he understood what would have happened to him if only the hut had not caught fire.
He was pained by the thought of having hastily blamed God.
Many times in life we are like this —
We hastily blame God.
But His every action is to save us from great danger.
Have faith! He is always with us.
