A Girl devotee (Name hidden) asked like this:
“Hare Krishna. As Krishna is supreme personality of Godhead so he become 16108 Krishna separately. But in today’s time a man marry more than one according to prabhupada bcz every woman should married can the husband become two like Krishna. Can he love equally with two wife, is it possible. First thing is why a man need more than one wife . If first wife died than one can marry it is special case.
In this age no girl want to marry a man who had a wife already how much rich he may be( for plundering money and property what happens today’s time is a exceptional case). Is Prabhupada statement allowed in today’s time?”
REPLY:
If you compare the man with Krishna in marrying girls, you should also prove that he can do miracles like Krishna.
He may think that he can have multiple wives since Krishna Himself had. But he should do what Krishna did in different ways.
The man should hold even a small mountain on his finger.
He should choose his parents in his next birth.
He should disappear suddenly and reappear as done by Krishna with Gopis.
Thus, comparing with a Supreme Lord is a childish thing.
Krishna does not marry to satisfy his senses because he is the master of His senses.
He is the source of all pleasures and hence He does not need pleasures from multiple wives.
But the man has disturbing senses and the tendency to seek pleasure throughout his life.
Krishna had no issues with any of His wife though He married 16,108 wives. But the man struggle to manage even a single wife.
The potency and capacity of humans are limited, whereas Krishna has all the ishwaryas without limit.
Srila Prabhupada says:
“Eko yo bahunam vidadhati kaman… That one singular person (Krishna), He is maintaining all these varieties of millions and trillions of persons”.
He also says:
“Kṛṣṇa is unlimited and has full knowledge, full power, full wealth, full beauty, full fame and full renunciation. Shouldn’t we consider ourselves lucky to go to such a father and enjoy His property?”
But, our knowledge, power, wealth, beauty, fame and renumciation are limited.
So, it is childishness to compare the man with Krishna.

“When Kṛṣṇa was present on earth, no one could surpass Him in strength. Even in His childhood He lifted Govardhana Hill. No one can surpass Him in cheating, no one can surpass Him in splendor, no one can surpass Him in victory, no one can surpass Him in enterprise, and no one can surpass Him in strength.”
Srila Prabhupada also says:
“Krishna is so powerful that He can become smaller than the smallest and greater than the greatest. He can keep millions of skies within His Belly.”
Thus, in all considerations, Krishna is beyond comparison with anyone else because everything originates from Krishna.
With our limited capacities, we should not compare with Krishna. If one can marry second wife with the consent of his first wife, no one is going to stop that. But without the consent of the first wife, one should not marry again. Because, the capacity of humans is limited.
But justifying multiple marriages for men comparing with Krishna is not right because of the huge difference in the status of Krishna and man.
And there are some women who permit her husband to marry again because they may be under the control of their husbands. Some husbands threaten their helpless wives and marry another girl.|
There are brilliant and foolish persons among both the males and females. So, these multiple marriages are examptions and followed by a small section of people.
The world is going in such a way that managing a big family is difficult with the sharp rise in the cost of living. So, these multiple marriages are becoming unthinkable.
So, you strictly follow the system. Some violations will always be there. Don’t worry.
