Forgiveness is the medicine – Story!
A brother of mine was very close to his friend for 15 years.
(I refers to the writer of this story)
Both of them grew up together, studied together.
So close that no matter was hidden from each other!
But one day, over a small money issue, the brother spoke angrily to his friend.
The friend also replied with the same anger.
That’s it!
15 years of friendship… ended in one day!
Three years later…
My brother suddenly had a big property problem.
His relatives tried to cheat him.
Unable to tell anyone, he languished in loneliness.
That’s when he remembered his friend.
“If he were here, I wouldn’t be alone like this!” He thought to himself.
But he didn’t give up his pride!
“Why should I go and apologize? Let him come!” he kept thinking.
One day, while in the temple of the Lord…
“Son, do you feel the pain of losing your friend now? It was pride and anger that isolated you. Forgiveness is not a defeat… it is the victory of conscience!”
That thought came to mind.
Immediately, the brother went to his friend.
“Friend, forgive me for my mistake. There is no greater loss for me than losing you!” he said with tears in his eyes.
The friend also hugged him.
“I have apologized to you a thousand times in my heart. But I did not have the courage to say it out loud!” he said.
Today, their friendship is back to its old level!
The friend also helped with the property issue.
“If I had not apologized, would I have received this support?” the brother now says.
MORAL:
Apologizing is not about reducing pride! It is about relieving the burden of the mind! Only forgiveness can save relationships! If you let go of pride, you will find peace!
God forgives us so many times… Why are we unable to forgive people?
Forgiveness is a sign of strength! Arrogance is the burden of weakness!
